He has a good look. A sort of everyday jerk, that you just want to slap.
His wrestling is ok, but I don't really think he evolved the right way. His push came too early and when he banged Lita he became the biggest heel. It was obvious he won the world title way too fast and it's WWE's bad booking that can be blamed for that.
I think him hanging out with Foley will do wonders for his carreer, he can learn a lot from Foley, who is a great storyteller.
But right now, he's an upper-midcarder.

Edge is fine with me. He's become the top heel right after Mr.McMahon and HHH.
I actually started liking him since he became "the crazy guy that couldn't win anything", and when he won the Money in the Bank I felt good for him. I hated him whe he feuded with Matt, though, and I still think that was a stupid angle; however, I marked for him when he feuded with Cena and got the title. He's been okay since, but his current angle is kinda dull.
And, it is true, the spear sucks, he should use the Edgeucator (sharpshooter, and the Edgecutioner is the DDT one, which he still uses, although stupid JR doesn't know the name).

I like Edge. He's really grown into a good heel who the crowd always reacts to. He's more over than most of the roster, and he's better of a wrestler than most people give him credit for. I guess I'm an Edge-head.

I'm going to admit that given the fact Edge became a heel because of him being a total prick in real life towards Matt Hardy, he's done a very good job of keeping himself as the total prick heel you just want to punch. And I will admit that he's earned some level of respect for me in terms of in ring ability following his hardcore match with Foley, but I think the anti-ECW angle they're on is a bit much, especially since he's apparently co-hardcore champion. It was one match! One friggin match! One hardcore match does not a hardcore champ make.
Also, I think it's hilarious how Lita and Edge have accidentally hit one another during matches about 10 times now and yet they are still together onscreen. I was under the impression that 3 accidental hits constituted a disbandment, of course that was back when HBK accidentally superkicked Diesel 3 times...plus there's the fact that Edge and Lita have slept together
but i digress.

Edge's in ring work was better in 2002, but he's still very talented. I loved his comedy with Team RECK and he has made a great serious heel too. All around, he's the real deal.

The whole "Edge got heat only after the Lita-Hardy affair" is a bit of a stretch, because Edge was already getting boos during his feud with Michaels, and since his turn at Taboo Tuesday.
Sure, being (portrayed as?) a jerk backstage/in real life did help him getting MORE heel heat, but it's been a year now, and usually hate fads don't last so long...
The truth is Edge is playing his role very well, and he's keeping the crowd mad at him, for whatever reason. His in ring work isn't like it used to be when he was on SD!, but anyway he's still capable of entertaining and fairly good matches.
The spear is far from awful, but it needs good selling ability from the opponent. But I concur he'd adopt at least a "spare" finisher, especially against bigger guys. Big Show or Kane taken down by a spear are a bit too much indeed.
IMO Edge is where he belongs, at least considering his "overall" skills.

Well, i'll give you most of those points, but the thing is it was easy for UnCreative to model Lita and Edge as completely irredemable jerks after what happened in regards to Matt Hardy. I'm pretty sure most of his backstage acting as a jerk was just acting, but on some level the fact that he slept with his "best friend's" girlfriend means that he's a bit of a jerk (or an idiot) in real life too. But since he's had a history of adulterous activities i'm inclined to agree on the jerk and idiot in real life part. But I still think the "Litagate" incident led to a massive overpush.

The overpush was only logical. The crowd was chanting for Matt. WWE had to do something about that. And Edge took the ball and ran with it. The crowd loved Matt, he made them hate him and it led to huge heel heat. He pretty much became the most hated guy in the WWE. Which had to lead to a main event run and since he did win the Money in the Bank match it was only logical that he wrestled Cena and won the title. In a way WWE lost control of the situation and just had to go with the flow.

Simple answer: I loathe him.
He's a talentless f***wit with wooden, forced, 'angsty Scorpio - Oh I'm Public Enemy No. 1 alright!' (Why, Edge? Any reason? Didn't think so. Idiot.) bullshit promos, he has less moves than Khali and his inability to get heat without being helped by everyone else he's involved with shows how much of a f***ing vacuum he is on the surrounding talent. I want to punch him in the tits.
He is no less a substitute main eventer than Mark Henry. Actually... he probably is, 'cause at least Henry legitimately looks like he could hurt someone. Unlike that rat-faced, Iron Man-chinned twat.

Edge is better than you.
That said... I don't see what's wrong with his spear. Yeah, against a bigger guy like Show or Kane it needs a little help -- so did Goldberg's. Every spear needs help. Every move any guy ever does needs help, that's the entire nature of pro wrestling!
Maybe I'm biased because he's been one of my favorites for years. But I think he plays the cocky heel PERFECTLY, and his main event push / status was done just right as well, spending years as a mid-carder and then having the Lita thing happen, started as a storyline deal with Kane and then having it transfer over to Hardy when the lid got blown off that situation and the whole thing became a 'worked shoot.' That got him more heat, then he used his money in the bank clause at NYR to propel into main event situation. It was a slow progression, so I don't see why anyone thinks it was done too soon or too forcefully.

His Spear works as a set up move or something. I mean on a guy like Spike Dudley he could finish with it, but I think a monster is more of a credible spear. Call me old fashioned, but when someone out ways you by what...ober 200 pounds, you should not be able to spear and pin them.
What was wrong with the Impaler ( or whatever it is called, the lifting DDT thing)?
