If you want to mellow out while driving and just enjoy the ride I suggest some Acoustic Alchemy or Jake Shimabukuro. Honestly smooth instrumentals is how I drive.

Andrew W.K.'s "55 Cadillac" is also some pretty rad driving music, if you're ready for the fact that it's a piano album.

"Middle of the Road" - The Pretenders
Great driving song, kinda fast beat, it rocks out. Sounds like a good song to pick up your paycheck and just take off somewhere.

Iron Maiden is almost hypnotic in that I subconsciously start driving to the tempo.
Also, I can't listen to it anywhere but the highway, while driving on the streets, I make turns without hitting the breaks....
