Santino has joined a pretty elite list. One almost as elite as the list of winners. One Man Gang Ted Dibiase* Mr. Perfect* Earthquake Hulk Hogan*Randy Savage** Bret Hart*/Lex Luger British Bulldog** Diesel** Bret Hart* The Rock** Steve Austin* The Big Show** Kane** Kurt Angle** The Undertaker** The Big Show** John Cena** Randy Orton** Shawn Michaels* Triple H** Triple H** John Cena** Santino Marella *Hall of Fame **Likely Hall of Fame Sid Justice was the final two in 1992, not Hulk Hogan, and yes, I would've marked if Santino won.

I would've marked if Santino won. However, I must admit, that in the back of my mind I felt that even if he had won, Santino would somehow not main event Wrestlemania. So I figured the 'Mania match wasn't at risk, and we could get away with giving him the Rumble win.

I don't understand the hate some have for Santino. It is as foreign to me as 2+2=5. Utterly inconceivable. Samehere. People don't want Santino to win the royal rumble but yet they want the TNA version of him, Eric Young, to win the world belt. It really doesn't make any sense.

I was already marking because there was a tiny voice telling me it was about to happen, lol. But IT DIDN'T.

I liked the way it was done as is.
It would have been pretty fun if he won...for that night. Then the next show would roll around and it'd just end up being pretty stupid.

Yes, I would. I'm glad that they went with ADR, but if Santino won my jaw would drop. My first question would be "have they lost their minds?" But then I would follow that up with, "I'm in."

Woulda been hilarious, yes.
Again, as I and others have mentioned in other threads, no reason for him to KEEP the 'Mania slot, but the win woulda been a big, comedic, feel good moment.

It would have been nuts. I'd have loved it for the moment. But, ultimately it's better to tease something like that than to actually do it. I know I'm too traditional, but the Rumble is WWE's second-biggest PPV. You give a guy a Rumble win to create a star out of him. Having Santino win would be a waste of opportunity because he's already as popular as he ever will be.
But I'm over-analyzing. The mark-side of me would've loved it, I admit.

I'd have marked, but it would have been stupid all the same.

absolutely ....which is why I was let down when Del Rio won, as opposed to being excited when he "won"

You would all have marked if Santino won. Absolutely. I was marking just watching him in the ring.

At the time, I was praying he wouldn't win, but as I looked back and thought about it more I would have preferred if he had.

It would've been a terrible idea to have him win, booking-wise, but I would've marked like crazy anyway.

I think they did it perfectly. Just seeing Santino sneak back into the ring was a big enough mark-out moment for me.

I am glad Del Rio won, but I admit I would be fine with Santino winning Money in the Bank.

It would of been a better way to build up Del Rio. Have him come out on Raw tonight and demand a rematch because he was wronged, force Del Rio to look passionate about getting the shot he was robbed of. This. I would have been totally stoked to see Santino take it last night, though I can see why they didn't. That said, it wouldn't have been a bad move to have Santino win, then have ADR actually have his feathers ruffled and demand a rematch. Make ADR want it instead of expecting it on a silver platter. Make Vince earn ADR's keep.

Would have been shrieking for joy. Both cos Santino is ace and it would have been one result nobody would ever have predicted. And every Rumble from now on would be more exciting because we would believe anyone could win it! This. Exactly this. He still wouldn't be headlining wrestlemania; They'd probably just have him drop the title shot on Raw or at the EC.
