This guy became a big deal, fairly quick... ...although the fans weren't really fond of him.

I don't know what's funnier, the guy on the right's "O-Face" or the guy flexing in the background. And is it sad that I kinda prefer old-school blue-blood Triple H to anything he's done over the past few years?

WHAT?! This pic confuses me because I thought the night THE ROCK won the WWF title, for the first time, was the Survivor Series tournament for the belt-- and wasn't it that night or around that time Mr. McMahon destroyed the old WWF title belt and presented it to Mick as the Hardcore Title. So, when Rock won the belt he got the new WWF Title belt with the more rounded design, instead of the eagle wings right on the leather? how wrong am I on this?

That was the night after Survivor Series 1998 kids, Yeah, but I thought McMahon presented Foley with the broken version of this title (in the pic above) as the hardcore title and if The Rock is holding it, the night after Survivor Series, it would have been the night right after Mr. McMahon screwed Foley over and helped The Rock win the belt. Wouldn't Foley (or excuse me, Mankind) and Mr. McMahon be on such bad terms after Survivor Series-- that it would be really unlikely he'd accept a broken version of a belt he'd just been screwed out of I'm really forgetting my history here. Vague memories. Maybe it's on youtube

Are there any pictures of Justin Gabriel in which can't be construed as being maybe gay or maybe straight? There you go... Totally straight.

I really liked his feud with Goldust.

{Spoiler} WHAT?! Well, what I think it was was that there were two different Eagle belts. The belt was destroyed by Mr. Perfect on a Saturday Night's Main Event in probably 1990 sometime. This belt was possibly taped up to become the Hardcore title, and it was given to Mankind the Raw before the go-home show for Survivor Series. For all we know, the destroyed belt was no more than a replica belt, and not the real Eagle belt. The real belt was last seen at the ceremony in which McMahon was to give the belt to Undertaker or Kane, only to have Austin crash the party with the Zamboni. As for the picture, I think this was nothing more than a promo shot that was probably shot even before Rock won the belt. I think they may have wanted to bring it back, but McMahon and management decided against it. McMahon had the put the newer "Attitude Era" Belt around Rock's waist on Survivor Series. And for the match, I looked up a video of it, and Rock had the Attitude Era belt, and not the Eagle belt. Either way, very good find!

I must have forgotten or never saw Hennig do that to the original eagle belt. but what you said makes perfect sense. It was probably a replica, as the real thing more than likely was way too expensive to pull of that stunt with. and it was likely they photographed The Rock with the real eagle design belt because it was in the plans to have him pick up the belt at some point during the late part of that year (98)

This belt was possibly taped up to become the Hardcore title I recently watched the promo where Hennig smashes up the belt. He pretty much obliterated the centre plate, so I'm of the school of thought that the Hardcore Title was a totally seperate belt. Here is an interesting blog that supposes one theory, but a comment on it offers an alternate.
