Age shouldn't mean a thing. As long as it is new fresh talent coming in I'm pretty sure everyone can be happy.

So wanting to hire young wrestlers is bad? Not necessarily. However, it seemed to me that the hiring was taking the opposite direction lately. Most of the "young" guys are at least old enough to have a college degree, which is good since most of them will end up injured or washed up in 5 years. The trade-off is that you hire people smart enough to save their money so they can "retire" when they're too broken to wrestle. So what if they leave in 3 years? Change is good for the product, I think, and it saves talent from wrestling for 20 years past their prime to pay medical bills. I can't imagine, though, hiring someone younger than 22ish. What you get is a dumb, unseasoned airbag who contributes nothing to the product (cue Kelly Kelly).

I thought it was Johnny Ace having to come up with another reason to hire a Diva besides he saw a picture of her in his porn stash.

So wanting to hire young wrestlers is bad? Not at all, but refusing to hire wrestlers, despite ability or experience, solely because their age is. I'm also pretty sure that a stated policy for this would be illegal even if they were independent contractors, and that combined with Kong just being hired, yeah, I'm doubting this. I'm pretty sure that the independent contractor status would keep it from being illegal. If you hire a team to build your house, they're independent contractors right? You could be a racist asshole and just decide that you don't want to hire a crew with any black guys on it and would legally be doing nothing wrong. Of course it's stupid, but you know...Things like this are why WWE fights so hard to keep that independent contractor status. Further, the ADEA only applies to workers that are 40 or older. So theoretically any company could refuse to hire a say, 34 year old, because they're too old. Having a policy to only hire people under 30 would definitely be illegal, but on a case by case basis I do not believe it would be illegal to not hire someone based on their age as long as they are not over 40.
