I think that brings the Kofi-Dolph best of 1,000,000 series to:
Kofi: 18,421
Dolph: 17,396

Seen it not that long ago and his run wasn't anything special then so I'm not that interested.

I'd prefer is he was the Jew IC Champ. He could then face Chris Masters with the stipulation that if Masters wins, Kofi would have to eat a pork chop.

I like it. It gives Ziggler a chance to main event, and I've always liked Kofi so no problem there.

Why do I have the feeling that if Kaval had decided to stick around he would have been the one to beat Dolph tonight?

He can have good matches with Cody, Swagger, Drew, Barrett, Del Rio etc. Even if there's no real reason established for them.

Why do I have the feeling that if Kaval had decided to stick around he would have been the one to beat Dolph tonight? Thats a sad thought. If they still wanted to put Kofi in the Ic Title scene as well then Kofi and Kaval would have had some great matches

I'm a big fan of Kofi, but his first IC Title reign came in 2008. You'd think he would have made some progress to the main event in that time, considering that he's both very talented and very over.
I'm not sure why the WWE won't pull the trigger on putting Kofi in the World Title mix, but they really should at least try this year.

I figure he's just going to hang onto it for a few months then drop it to Cody Rhodes probably around Extreme Rules.
Kofi is in an awkward position right now; he's very over, enough so to jump to the main event scene, but he's also the only midcard face on SmackDown anyone cares about so they have to keep him where he is.

If he loses the title to Dashing, maybe we could get Kofi/Dolph for the WHC at WM, as a closer to the rivalry.

Don't insult the poor guy. I can watch Kofi without drifting off into a coma.

It would have been hilarious if the original plan was for Ziggler to drop it to Kaval.
Hayes: LOL, we were going to push you eventually!

It would have been hilarious if the original plan was for Ziggler to drop it to Kaval. In all honesty, I don't see why this couldn't have been done with Kaval, and maybe in the long term that was the plan rather than dropping it back to Kofi. Still, I don't hate Kofi, so it's all good.

He's a solid transitional champion for the next heel to hold the belt.

I still don't see why they don't bump Masters or Trent up a level, just to give a better mixture of matches for the IC level. Hell, even give Chavo one more shot. Actually, whatever happened to when main event guys would be challenging for the IC title and treating it as just as big of a deal as the world titles like when JBL, Jericho, and Rey Rey were?

Kofi's a good choice. The main event is packed right now and he's a totally likeable character who has good matches. I don't know one person who actually hates Kofi Kingston, and bearing these factors in mind, he makes for a solid IC champ.

The problem is there are no other fit SD faces on Kofi's level right now. Mysterio and Show are above IC level, Christian is injured, Jackson is still being hyped up, McIntyre is in transition and everyone else (Masters, Barreta and JTG) needs weeks of building up.
Kaval would have been in the latter category were he still there.

I guess it makes sense, Kofi is over enough to keep folks interested in the belt and there are more heels than faces on Smackdown so he has got guys to feud with.
Kofi though is just meh to me. I'm not even entirely sure why, even though I admit he is capable of good matches and doing some amazing shit, I just don't care about him at all.
