Have him give Rey's children puppies before a tag match with their Dad. During the match, turn on Rey, put him through the Spanish announce table with an Attitude Adjustment, and then take the puppies back.
Next week, from a live remote, he throws the puppies off a bridge.
Everyone hates him now.
Everyone.

By having him do the one thing that's the most out of character (or at least goes against his T-Shirts) for him.
Quit.

I'd compare it to Hulk turning.
You'd have to get it VERY right.

They could easily turn Cena by having him and Orton feud and turn him into a paranoid cheater. He could cheat to win, then whine when Orton beats him, make excuses. Then, he slowly turns on the fans, blaming them for not cheering their hero hard enough, and eventually criticize the fans for cheering a snake like Orton who beat the crap out of his dad, attacked Stephanie McMahon, attacked Vince McMahon (all of this getting cheers from Orton fans, upsetting Dudley Do-right even more). Basically, have him become a hypocrite, slowly abandoning his ideals in the face of adversity, but he also has a point. A lot like Bret Hart's turn, actually.

Cena heel turn done in 3 steps:
1. Ends the Undertaker's Wrestlemania undefeated streak via massive screwjob. 2. Cuts scathing heel promo on the fans the next night and develops a Hollywood Cena persona 3. (This is the important one) there needs to be a rising babyface that can take his place, otherwise you can forget about doing steps 1 and 2.
At this point it seems impossible due to a lack of #3. I never say never when it comes to Wrestling, but a Cena heel turn really isn't looking likely.

Set up some type of tournament with the winner getting a title shot.
First match in the tournament CM Punk wins. John Cena and Daniel Bryan are in the tournament with winner facing Punk.
You know that thing wrestling companies tend to do where they don't flat out say two people are about to feud but they keep dropping endless hints? Do that here. Stare down moments between Cena and Punk, possibly start doing this before tournament.
Have some interaction backstage with Cena and Punk before Cena's match. Cena tells Punk he will see him in the next round.
Cena and Daniel Bryan have a good match, back and forth. Maybe have Punk come out to the ringside. Cena hits the AA but can't put Bryan away. Rope break. Then out of nowhere Bryan catches Cena, rolls him up, 123.
Punk beams a huge smile and starts laughing, Bryan celebrates, and John Cena does that heelish "I'm going to cry/puke" surprised face.
Bryan helps Cena up and extends his hand, but Cena pretends not to have seen it and leaves with his head held low.
Run a bunch of "RAW Recaps" throughout the rest of the week that clearly show Cena losing clean and not shaking Bryan's hand. Hammer this home to the viewers before the next RAW so they know two facts
1) Cena lost clean 2) he turned away from Bryan's handshake
At the next RAW have Punk come out and start taunting Cena about his loss. Have Cena come out, but don't let him be his cool collected self. Show that he is bothered. After Punk makes fun of Cena for claiming they would meet in the next round and then losing to a rookie, have Cena begin to make excuses and get increasingly angry and almost look like he will cry. Have him claim Punk distracted him, despite everyone seeing first hand that he lost clean. Have Cena lose it and say he is the best and there is no way someone like Bryan could best him.
Have Cena beg for a rematch against Bryan. When he finally gets it, have Cena cheat but be unable to put Bryan away. After a final desperate act that still doesn't get Cena the win he just flips out and assaults Bryan. Preferably while crying.
The crying may risk Cena looking weak and losing some fans, but I think seeing him act like a child throwing a fit would be a sure fire way to turn a guy that over with fans. Plus if he cries while attacking violently it, in my view, goes from weak/laughable to creepy.

I'd allways imagine Cena as kind of a Jackass Heel.

You're having Cena lose not once but twice to the IWC's poster boy and crying like a little girl while CM Punk calls him out on it. All it needs is a newly rehired Kaval running in to save Bryan from the post match beatdown and kicking Cena's head in.

That alone makes it a better suggestion than having Cena turn heel by beating up... a heel.

I thought it read like I was suggesting Cena barely lose one match to one of the biggest faces on the WWE's biggest show. The crying and Punk calling him out on it was to make him look bad. Like a heel... Insert anyone else into the Punk position if I am using too many wrestlers that people appreciate. I will never understand why people like Punk and DBD can get huge success and many more fans in the WWE Universe but if you ever like them you get called an IWC nerd as though that means anything.

Cena could have turned heel on Orton during the whole "Free or Fired" thing, and it would have made for a nice contrast to when they feuded with Orton as the main heel and Cena as the main face. The opportunity is always there so long as there is some sort of storyline support for it.

It's not that hard.
1. Drop hints that Cena's starting to feel disrespected by the crowd. 2. Have him decide he's going to prove himself by challenging the Undertaker. 3. Have him flake out during tag matches where he teams with guys like JoMo or DBD. 4. Book Cena/Yoshi vs. Gabriel/Otunga. Yoshi gives the performance of his life, and is actually rolling against Otunga. Yoshi sets him up in the corner for the rolling snapmare/kick, but Cena tags himself in (as it's established he can't stand Otunga). Cena beats the crap out of Otunga, but Slater hits the ring, and Yoshi fights him off. McGillicutty and Husky show up and interfere, and Gabriel puts Cena away with the 450 (as he's done before). 5. Cena goes searching for Yoshi backstage and screams at him, ripping into him "WHERE WERE YOU? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE MY BACK!!!", and then beats the living hell out of him without waiting for an answer. 6. Have Taker start pointing out that Cena is losing it. 7. Have Cena start cutting promos about how he's Superman and nothing, nobody can keep him down for longer than a few seconds. Punk comes out and points out that Cena has a match against him tonight and that he'd better not be looking past him, as that would be disrespectful. 8. Cena vs. Punk, it's obvious that Cena's distracted by UT and his own insecurities, and Punk catches him in the Anaconda Vice and makes him tap. Punk and Nexus briefly celebrate, Nexus chanting "YOU TAPPED OUT". 9. Cena's "Brother From Another Mother", Darren Young, tries to talk to Cena backstage, saying something along the lines of "We all have bad days out there.", leading to Cena freaking out and beating the crap out of HIM. 10. UT continues to play mind games. 11. Cena comes out (after UT has screwed with him in he usual ways... caskets and druids backstage, etc...) during a R-Truth vs. William Regal match and beats the hell out of them, screaming "YOU THINK I'M AFRAID OF YOU, UNDERTAKER? I'M THE DAMNED SUPERMAN! I WILL [various acts of violence] YOU!" 12. He cheats and cheats and cheats and breaks the streak. 13. THEN he finally chews out the crowd and is just as vicious as they can let him get on a PG show.

Have Cena sell out, but with a twist - he never bought in Let's start this at WrestleMania, for the title. Cena against someone evenly matched against him....I would say Orton but HHH would fit. The match is very, VERY back-and-forth, crammed with false finishes, and after a while, Orton seemingly gains the victory. Vince McMahon comes down to the ring, claims the referee made a bad call, and jumps in to restart the match with himself as official. One screwy finish later, Cena's got the dirty win. The next night, Vince and Cena come to the ring (to Vince's theme) and explain that Cena had been Vince's guy all along. He made sure, by making refs call matches the way he wanted and paying opponents off/threatening them, that Cena was the top guy - also making him look like the good guy morally. At WrestleMania, he saw his invincible warrior almost taken down by The Viper, so he decided that he didn't need to hide what was going on any longer. Cena says that he will show his true self from now on, and ditching the good-guy, kiss-up to the fans persona he'd put on for all those years. Ironically, he then becomes a corporate kiss-up, wearing suits and, when wrestling, plain tights, and adopting a new entrance theme (Ideally, OneRepublic's All The Right Moves). He either cheats or relies on corporate interference to win matches.

Cena is way too popular to turn heel by attacking someone. He'll get cheered, it doesn't matter who he attacks. He could recreate the Rock/Mankind chair shots with Santino's head for ten minutes and the place would blow up when he finally hit the AA through the ring. The only way to turn him at this point is to make him turn on the fans completely like Jeff Hardy is doing over in TNA. Have him do "I'm tired of destroying myself for you people" promos and deny the crowd the whole Cena act. However, that would probably mean losing a lot of money considering most of his "fans" are little kids who would actually quit watching if Cena stopped playing to them. It really seems almost impossible at this point. They actually tried that with The Rock with his whole Prima Donna persona, but it backfired because people started cheering for him again. I think Jericho has been the person to do it best though.
