I'd just like to say that Wonderwall was DICK CLARK APPROVED, according to one judge. Looking forward to this next round. Should be good. I was making reference to Winning Lines, an oft forgotten game show released around the same time that WWTBAM did in '99-'00, the bonus round of which was called the Wonderwall. It was a legal to use song since it wasn't used in the last competition, but some judges would still feel that was a cheap pick.

We've sent in our song for this round.
Unlike the last round, I chose this song.
Right... And if it doesn't get in the top 5?
I'll blame it on you.

Alright, 1st place! I had a very good feeling about that song, glad to see it paid off.
Round 3 should be interesting.

Whitesnake let me down, damn Hoping to rebound this round, I thought Still of the Night would go over a lot better than that.

1. "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty. An absolute classic! Seriously has me wondering why nobody picked this before.
2. "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles. C'mon, it's classic Beatles! Well done.
3. "Wonderwall" by Oasis. My all-time favorite song by Oasis. Proof? I picked this song in Season Four.
4. "The Globe" by Big Audio Dynamite II. Sampling The Clash turns out to work to this song's advantage. Bravo.
5. "Day By Day" by Serafin. Very good harder rock piece.
6. "Warwick Avenue" by Duffy. Nice, uh, jazz voice? Not sure what she counts as, but she's good.
7. "Motorcycle Emptiness" by Manic Street Preachers. Good song, but nothing major.
8. "Brianstorm" by Arctic Monkeys. I really am at a loss for words to describe this.
9. "Glory Box" by Portishead. Jazz rock? It's OK.
10. "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" by The Darkness. Again, I really do not know how to describe this.
11. "Still Of The Night" by Whitesnake. I may love my hair metal, but this song really just does not work for me at all.
12. "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" by Ed Sheeran. Tries too hard to sound like a British Justin Timberlake, but ends up just being a generic pop song.
13. "Stylo" by Gorillaz. Unpleasantly droning.

My song is sent in. It's a classic Bergman pick, could go straight to the top, or blow up in my face!

My belated comments.
"The Globe" The verses sound like two completely different songs, which is pretty jarring. The chorus is unique as well, but it seems to work better for me.
"Brianstorm" I'm loving this new-wave-surf-rock vibe I'm getting. Absolutely love it.
"Warwick Avenue" A real nice "See? I can really sing" song. Didn't really connect with me on a deep level, but it was nice.
"Day By Day" This was another one that didn't really register as great for me, but it was certainly fun while it lasted.
"Baker Street" I always joke that if someone starts playing "Sweet Caroline", they can skip right to the "Sweeeeeet Car-o-liiiine, BAH BAH BAH!" part, then stop. That's all I want to hear. This is how I feel about Baker Street. It does nothing for me outside of DAT SAXOPHONE. *Puts on stunner shades and bites lower lip*
"You Need Me, I Don't Need You" DAT FLOW. Any doubts I ever had about this song disappeared during the bridge and third verses. Just absolutely awesome.
"Motorcycle Emptiness" It's a nice mood-setter. This song ended up being the "I really loved this song" line; I loved everything above it.
"Glory Box" I don't think this would sound out of place as a Bond song. That is a good thing.
"I Believe in a Thing Called Love" DAT FALSETTO. It's a nice, fun song. I don't know if it's a great song, but it's just plain enjoyable.
"Stylo" It was really quite hypnotic... in a not-so-great way. I like the middle of the song, but it just seemed to take a while to get there.
"I Want to Hold Your Hand" I like that you went with the live version, which I think was a bit better than the studio version. That said, in a contest like this, whenever you pick the Beatles, you not only go against the other songs in the round but also the rest of their catalog that you didn't pick (fair or unfair). I think it's a very-good-but-not-great song, so it won't get you first place points.
"Wonderwall" Psh. Jay-Z did it better. DAT POINTLESS FEUD (Thought I was done with that joke, didn't you?)
"Still Of The Night" I'm not a big fan of this song. I don't hate it, but it just doesn't do much for me.
TOP FIVE Arctic Monkeys - "Brianstorm" Ed Sheeran - "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" Oasis - "Wonderwall" Portishead - "Glory Box" The Darkness - "I Believe in a Thing Called Love"
MIDDLE FIVE The Beatles - "I Want to Hold Your Hand" Manic Street Preachers - "Motorcycle Emptiness" Gorillaz - "Stylo" Whitesnake - "Still Of The Night" Serafin - "Day By Day"
BOTTOM FIVE Duffy - "Warwick Avenue" Gerry Rafferty - "Baker Street" Big Audio Dynamite - "The Globe" No Pick #1 No Pick #2

Song sent in. It was pretty fun trying to come up with songs that fitted this round's criteria. It's these kind of rounds that are the best IMO, rather than pick a song from a particular era or genre or whatever. Hopefully my pick goes down well.

Thanks to everyone for getting their songs in so quickly. That has to be a record for this game's history or something. If I get the songs by tonight, they'll be judged by tonight. I'm out-of-town tomorrow starting early morning, so if not tonight, I'll have to get to judging them on Sunday. Just a fair heads up to contestants.
I'm glad some of you liked the round. One thing I didn't mention that I love about those types of rounds is that you can't "cop out" like some people do way too much and starting Googling songs to fit the category. That's one thing that I really hated about some games and rounds: people not resorting to their own music tastes and instead relying upon some random on a music forum to tell them what to pick or to go look up.
