...kind of makes me feel like an asshole sometimes.
My fiancee is spending the night with a couple of friends and wanted me to come, and we've spent the last two nights hanging out with people, and I kinda just need a night to myself to just chill and recharge, especially considering I'm working tomorrow.
Now, she's not super mad at me or anything, just a little annoyed that I don't always go out when she does. She understands, but she just likes to have me around when she goes places. I understand that, and I also like to hang out with people...but after awhile it just makes me tired and exhausted.
Sometimes I just wish I were more capable of being social without feeling so tired.
Anyway, whiny rant over. Anyone else feel this way?

I'm introverted too.
Most of the time I'm perfectly fine that way but in some ways I wish it were easier for me to interact with others without coming off like a jerk.

Feel the same way almost word for word. Most of the time I have no desire to go out.

I do the same thing. There are just days where I want the entire world to f*** off for no real reason other than I want to be alone.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Well I knew I wasn't the only one...but it's nice to see it, y'know? I do the same thing. There are just days where I want the entire world to f*** off for no real reason other than I want to be alone. Indeed. Sometimes, I just like my alone time. It's nice to just chill and do whatever I want. Even if "whatever I want" is basically nothing.

Even if "whatever I want" is basically nothing. Bingo! You have no idea how many people I know do not understand this concept.

I love my friends but I'm very very introverted. There's nothing wrong with that. I love just sitting at home by myself. If I'm around people for too long I start getting very anxious.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head for me. I just can't do it for super long. I need a day to myself pretty frequently.

Ive slowly been feeling this way for the past few years, Its an odd feeling to explain since i dont suffer from any type of depression or anything... but i normally take some Clonazepam if i know im going to be out with friends for a while!

Put your foot down now, or you'll be whipped when you get married.

I'm a bit of an introvert as well. Although what's weird is how I'll go through these phases where I begin to miss the company of other people, but when I finally DO hang out with a group of people, I don't really enjoy myself, and subsequently go back to being introverted. And the cycle begins anew.

There's nothing wrong with that.
I REQUIRE alone time every day or else I flip out and start resenting everyone.

I'm with you. I'm married with 2 kids.
I don't mind going out to meet other people, but I can only hear the same stories over and over again before I get irritated. If I go somewhere and there's a Sox or Cubs game on, I bring my little radio with me and amuse myself with that.

It happens. At least she seems willing to compromise on it, as are you.
I'm much the same way.

That's normal. Sometimes I have my moments where I need to be around a bunch of people, and sometimes there's periods where I just want to chill out and draw or read.
