I'm not even asking you to, man. I'm just trying to show you how it comes across to me, and I realize that I worded that post poorly, and pretty much called all of you weirdos that embarrass my friends.

Collectors of Trainers/Sneakers or sealed videogames Well I partially understand as I know there’s enjoyment to be had from collecting things but why these I’ll never know.
There’s a good chance the ponies aren’t a fad, people said that about Pokémon and that’s still going strong, it’s natural to lose some fans along the way but many will remain. Hell the same thing could be applied to wrestling.

Meh, the Pony thing is kinda baffling but I just use my ad blocker to hide all the Pony sigs and avatars, makes navigating the board much better and quicker.
I never understood Dragonball Z. It's basically two people chucking energy balls at each other for 3 hours, and then after they throw one they need 3 weeks to lie down for a while. How an animated fighter standing on the spot roaring at the top of his lungs is considered entertaining I don't know.

You know, I know this will make me seem like a dick, but the bazillion Civil War sigs right now. It's just a logo, a black background and whomever in WWE you decided to mark for in it... they aren't even clever. Ok, I chuckled at the Captain America one that added "Wait, what?" to it, but other then that... I don't see what's so clever about it. If you have of those AND a pony reference, I just feel like you're overloading on fads/memes.

The Sonic fandom. Because they seem to get even more worked up about their subject than even most wrestling fans or bronies I know. So worked up that it is even a tad creepy.

The Ponies.
I dont get involved with it, and I dont need to. And its not even a criticism. I will just often log on, see a lot of pony avs and sigs and just think to myself "Wow, those guys like their ponies". Its amusing really.

I'm one of the older ones here so I have seen more than my share of fads and fandoms. I'll just list a few, the rest were already mentioned somewhere on the previous pages.
-Guys with their tight-rolled jeans. Because there's nothing sexier on a man than their bare ankles. -Mesh Ts. I get it, it's to show off your body. Half-Ts? To show off your abs. Half mesh Ts? Okay, I'm confused. You wanna wear a shirt or not? (Yet, if I see women wearing those, I'd jump on the bandwagon.) -The early '90s brought us the hot neon pinks and greens. Hot pink hats, neon green T-shirts. Because you obviously don't care about other people's eyesight. -American Idol nuts. People who obsess over each and every show. I have Facebook friends who are on edge every week, anticipating each episode; as if I had inadvertently subscribed to the Idol Facebook page. I get their personal previews, their opinions, etc. (Fittingly, the same people are also just as fanatical about "Glee". Is the music scene THAT BAD?) -Someone needs to explain to me how Neil Patrick Harris got to be such an "icon". (I like the guy, but how did he become such a huge part of American pop-culture?)
I better stop, I added a couple more things than I promised.

Geez man, you don't need to leap on every post that says My Little Pony. Meh, I'm just trying to respond to posts by people that say they don't understand it. I just don't see it as a fad or anything. I see myself loving this particular incarnation of MLP until my dying day. That's how much it means to me. It's a lost cause dude. That's exactly why I stopped trying to white knight this show. You can defend it, and give perfect reasoning, and all you'll get is ignorance.

don't know if it can be classed as a fad or not, but I've yet to understand the reasoning behind the habit of embedding two second youtube videos into posts. two examples being that family guy laughing ostrich, or the futurama laugh harder one. Surely its significantly more efficient to just type 'haha' or 'lol' as opposed to going on another website, finding the video, c+ping into the post =/ That's not a fad or a fandom, that's just people posting an a clip they find amusing to respond. It's not really any different from quoting The Big Lebowski or posting a facepalm image in response. Meh, I'm just trying to respond to posts by people that say they don't understand it. That's the problem with the white knighting and constant responses, it's getting upset and overly defensive because people don't share tastes and aren't interested in the same things. The backlash against it is annoying, but posts like that don't help your cause in the slightest. The superiority complex is ridiculous, other people not liking something doesn't make you better, it doesn't make them better, and it's annoying to see threads like this derailed because everyone feels the need to square off all the time about it.

Very few if any people are asking for an explanation of MLP or crapping on it. This is what im not liking about the fandom, just because people dont care about the show (either for or against), people like you refer to them (allbeit not all the time, but enough for it to become an annoyance) as ignorant, which I take offence to. I'm not ignorant, I just plain ol' couldn't give two craps about the show x

Yeah, its not quite a fad, but it happens a fair bit and Im lost, posting a quote of big lebowski (for example: thats just your opinion man ) is a lot easier to do in text than finding the relevent video and posting it x

You know, I know this will make me seem like a dick, but the bazillion Civil War sigs right now They just remind me of how bad the main comic was, and strikes me as an odd fad to come some five years later.

Brooding Characters. We've seen them in Twilight. We've seen them in Dragon Age 2(f*** you Fenris). We've seen them in almost every Final Fantasy game past seven. Boring, unoriginal, and just unlikeable characters. Can I have one just one game where the main character isn't a brooding "Oh woe is me" personality?
I just want someone that's optimistic!

Sig pictures of random men/girls who are attractive or whatever.
Not a criticism solely for this forum, but I'm glad most places have an option to block signatures under user settings. Albeit it seems less prevalent than it once was on here so good jerb people.

Given that I'm usually on the internet to waste time, I don't think it's that long.

I personally think it's funnier to dig up the Half-Baked "Boo This Man" gif than typing it out.

Most of the time I have the videos scouted out before I post them. Makes it quicker for me to use them when the time is right.

Rap music. Becuase it effing sucks. American "Football." Ten minutes of talking tactics and forming up the players, and then maybe 30 seconds of action. Boooooo-ooooooooooring!
