They made...a direct to DVD sequel...to Quarantine. Set for release later this year. While the original was a nearly shot for shot remake of [REC], you may be surprised to find out that this movie is choosing to ignore [REC]2 and do its own thing. And that thing? Zombies on a Plane. Daggone it. Basically, they've decided to ignore [REC] 2 and copy this:

I've been pondering a new way of reviewing movies, which would be quicker and direct. I call it the Movie Gradebook. I run down the pros and cons of the film, give a final verdict and slap my rating down. The ratings will be A-F, just like a school paper. I used to rate films this way back in the day (I'm pretty sure even here, at one point). It's not entirely original (I've seen it utilized before), but think I'd be much more efficient with it. I'm contemplating making it a weekly thing for either my blog or a specific site (throwing my resume around). I'd like to test it out here, if you guys don't mind. If you do, tough shit! I'm doing it anyway! Without further ado, my review of "The Fear": Pros:-The premise, Morty using his victim's fears against them, is intriguing. -Wes Craven as Dr. Arnold was dexterous. -The atmosphere was eerie. -Morty "dancing" was unintentionally hilarious and, though bad in regular terms, was enough to salvage the dreadful finale. Cons:-Morty's immobility reduces the tension. His name also isn't frightening and always sounds goofy when said. -The use of one's own fear is underdeveloped and shoddily thrown together. -Most of the deaths happen off-screen. This wouldn't be a problem if they weren't revealed for a good ten minutes afterward, which by then you completely forgotten about them. -The characters are inconsistent, leaving nobody to root for. -Vance, who was supposed to be threatening, was about as intimidating as Rizzo the Rat. -The editing is atrocious! -The actors can't handle the drama that comes with the package. Final Verdict: A bad slasher flick thinly disguised as a psychological thriller. The latter isn't much of an improvement. Grade: D

I like the review, YellowJacket. Quick and to the point. When I do 'scripts' from my DC reviews, I typically make a Pro/Cons list and build around them. I remember seeing the box cover for The Fear a long time ago, but never picked it up. ~~~ Bloody-Disgusting is reporting news of a Direct to DVD sequel to remake The Wolf Man. Original reports were hinting that they make reboot the series for DVD, but it appears they'll attempt to keep the timeline from the remake, even hiring the writer of it to pen this sequel. Horror Movies and Direct to DVD. Go together like a horse and carriage.

Yeah, I posted the trailer in the last Horror thread. But i'll post it again for people who haven't seen it yet, since I posted it on my YouTube page. (I could use the views, haha) No sign of Angle in the trailer though. My guess is that it's going to be a random cameo, or along the lines of Christian in Shoot 'Em Up.

Received my copy of The Walking Dead in the mail yesterday. Just made it through the first four episodes, and I've gotta say: IT'S AWESOME!
Now, I sadly await the news of a "feature film" version condensed to 90 minutes and rated PG.
*sigh*

The series is pretty great though, although I believe nothing passes the quality of the first half of the season though. Still, check it out, and I really can't wait for S2. I read somewhere that they offered Edgar Freakin' Wright a directing gig for an episode next season. Please let him take the job.

Yeah, I loved Season 1, and I gotta get that DVD. It sucks that I have to wait so damn long for Season 2, but then again, I can add it to the list of reasons why October is my favorite month out of the year.

So they're making a fourth Underworld movie, subtitled New Dawn, and in 3D NONETHELESS! SKIPPY! Well, at least they got one thing right. {Spoiler} Thank god.

But I'm not too keen on that new subtitle. WAAAY too much like Twilight for my liking, especially considering the next installment of that series will be Breaking Dawn. C'mon, you know me. I find the rain cloud in every silver lining. ;D But I jest. I love these movies, and will probably go and see this one twice!

I'm aware of that. Anyways, this would be pretty awesome to see, if they use the same technology that they used for the 3D in RE: Afterlife.

Pros:-Scanners dueling with one another is a cool concept. -Patrick Kilpatrick is exceptional as Karl Volkin, who makes for a good villain. -The special effects are really good, especially with the body melts. -Some of the showdowns are damned entertaining! Cons:-Daniel Quinn is lackluster as the main hero, Detective Samuel Staziak. -Khrystyne Haje as Carrie Goodart is a terrible love interest. -The facial expressions Quinn and Kilpatrick make when scanning are hysterically awful. Looks as if they're making their 'O' faces. -Though a cool effect, the body melt was overused and became tiresome. -Quite a few dull showdowns, a bit more than the good ones, unfortunately. Final Verdict:Has all the elements for a fun sci-fi romp, but underperforms where it matters. Kilpatrick, the special effects and a few good showdowns salvage the movie. Final Grade:C-

Final Grade:C- Depending on who you ask, it's also either this movie or The Brood that has the distinction of being the first movie to feature an exploding head. An auspicious honor if there ever was one. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I have nothing else to add, since I've never seen: - Walking Dead- Any Underworld movie - Any of the Resident Evil sequels

I'll just post this here. Pretty hilarious spoof trailer for all of these movies coming out that turns old legends into oversexed PG-13 horror films for fantasy-obsessed tweens. This one: Locks of Gold which is obviously a take on Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears. Oh yeah, forgot one little detail. But i'll let you figure that out. Hell, it's in the screencap on the embed.

I'm pretty sure the only reason this movie got made was so they could hold onto the rights to the Hellraiser series in order to do the remake which is why all efforts were dropped to get Doug Bradley after he showed some resistance. They just wanted to get something out as quick as possibly.
