Am I the only person that thinks that Supes looks just... off... without the red on his crotch?
Also, I may be just biased, but I would've loved if they had borrowed the Kingdom Come version of Hawkman (minus the overt eco-terrorist sort of overtones) to be the new official Hawkman. Still my favorite version of him.

Nope. In fact, maybe it's the wrestling fan in me, maybe it's the fact that I've grown up with it; but the whole 'trunks' look for Superman has never, ever bothered me.
I think the new costume looks dumb without it.

I actually think most superhero costumes need SOME sort of delineation at the waist/crotch area, whether it's the trunks-on-the-outside look, actual pants, or a belt. Without it you just wind up with this sort of ambiguous area uncannily close to the Thundercats at the beginning of the very first episode of the original series. USUALLY the belt works, but I think it's the overwhelming amount of blue on the new Supes costume that makes things look really off.

I don't mind it. I'm really liking the new trunkless look Batman was sporting during Batman INC. Minus the glowy Batsymbol.

I was sore about Secret Origins being released so soon after Birthright, and now Superman: Earth One (although unrelated) is being meshed with yet ANOTHER tale is going to oversaturate us with Supes origins.

Ii think the following {Spoiler}Thomas Wayne sacrifices himself to save the universe. But it's too late, and the universe as we currently know it ends. ...They did say it was a RE-LAUNCH and most definitely not a REBOOT.

So maybe something was going to happen to completely erase the universe, Thomas gives his big diving, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" moment and just has everything slightly altered. I'm sure there will also be some slight overlap between Flashpoint and DCnU, at least just to give us the tearful scene where Thomas sees Bruce alive, saying, "Martha, I did it...*cough*...I did it..."*dies*

So I just read that Karen Starr will be appearing in Mr Terrific.
This raises even MORE questions! Sill she be superpowered? If so, what will her origin be? Will it be SOO MUDDIED UP like when she was Atlantean, then not, then Atlantean again, then finally clarified? Will they humorously make her a holdover from a dead previous universe all over again?
If she isn't powered, will she still be as...GIFTED as previous incarnations?

Of all the series that should be gritty and real, that's the one they decide to make look cartoony?
Bloody hell DC.

Yes. I like her new look. I dislike the silly armour look to Superman, but I do like that, the cape fastening and the boots especially.

I disagree with his list. Mainly the ones about DC listening to fans, cutting the 'dead wood' (Secret Six was not F***ing dead wood), new costumes not killing anyone and most especially continuity not mattering.
And Stormwatch are a superhero team that was originally part of a different universe. It features heroes who are based on various architypes, a gay Superman and Batman type coupling and in this version, Martian Manhunter as team leader. I was looking forward to it, until seeing the art, but meh.
DC has some new things that do interest me, but by and large, I shall be trying to avoid the mainstream DC guys and sticking to the Dark books, Stormwatch and Suicide Squad. That's a lot less than I pick up from them now.
