Here's another option (albeit, a least common one) - dragging the belt.
Remember when Rocky would do it? He would come down to the ring grabbing the belt by one side and almost dragging it on the floor while walking down to the ring. It seemed kinda cool just cause it was different (and if you wanna go the symbolic route, it resembled how cannibals would supposedly drag their women by the hair as a way of saying "this is MY property")
Perhaps another wrestler did that as well, but The Rock was the only one that came to mind.

Bubba wasn't the only one to wear around the neck, as 'Taker did it to while he drove his motorcycle to the ring.
Also, don't forget that Benoit (for his reign as champion) put it over his shoulder.
But I perfer waist as well, guess I'm old school.

I prefer waist unless, like Yokozuna, you're JUST TOO FAT to wear it round the waist. I never liked seeing anyone wear it around their shoulder, especially not Benoit for some reason.

I liked the Buh Buh/ABA Taker Around the neck style
I also like the Rambo style that Chris Daniels uses

Anything held by Nash would lower the value of the belt. But the belt in the hands of the biggest star of the era? Nah. Every feud he's EVER had as champion was top notch and legendary.

I strongly prefer around the waist--over the shoulder just makes it look like a weird man-purse. Champs too big for the belt should have it respectfully carried by a minion.
