Anybody else really looking forward to this game? I loved Morrowind and was practically obsessed with Oblivion upon its release so I'm anticipating how awesome this game will be.
I mean, so far there are Dragons, Werewolves, the ability to marry (Something that I never would have thought would be in the game) and a whole new engine and graphics system.

I am so excited for this game! I'm probably going to make a Santa Claus character and marry a Khajiit.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to this game. There's just too much good stuff coming out, so it'll be a month or so atleast before I get it. Too consumed by Dark Souls, right now.
I really, really hope the combat is better this time around... that said, Oblivion was one of my favorite games of the last decade and Morrowind was fun and showed lots of promise but was flawed. Haven't played any before that.

Haven't played any before that. Yeah, combat in Morrowind and Oblivion seemed very simplistic and there wasn't that much into it. That being said Morrowind you could just levitate about everybody and Oblivion you could just instakill people with a spell or a super enchanted arrow, things Skyrim has improved upon. I'm pretty sure the Fallout games gave Bethesda a better idea of an action oriented game.

Part of me wants to play this really bad, but I have way too much going on with school to be able to really immerse myself in another RPG.

Obvlivion with non-automatically generated landscape and a non-convoluted leveling system?
YES PLEASE.
Pre-ordered it, so I'll get the spiffy map. I know I'll save 100 dollars if I just wait till the inevitable GOTY edition, but I CAN'T f***ING WAIT AHHHHH

Some early impressions from a person who has it on Reddit. No real plot spoilers or anything in here, but I'll throw it in a tag anyway. I didn't want to read them on there to copy them here. {Spoiler} HOLY f*** IT'S HUGE No srsly, this is bigger than Oblivion & Morrowind. All fully traversible etc. It's fairly dense; there's a map-marker to discover fairly frequently, AND lots of unmarked stuff (random example: a sunken ship near a marked island sign-stone), AND multi-level dungeons.
There are lots of books. Like hundreds. Most just have backstory, some have +1 to skill on read, some start quests or mark places on your map, some give hints about alchemical combinations…
The world is almost universally gorgeous. Not everything, but enough. Weather is excellent, atmospheric sounds are dead on, there are pretty flying butterflies and bees you can catch and tear up in the name of Science (er, alchemy), and there are epic dragons. Yes, a bunch of them.
The classless / attribute-less system works really well. My build is a Khajiit mage/thief with a sideline in item creation. You could do more or less whatever build you can think of. The races have only enough differences to be flavorful, not to matter long-term.
You can have a pet wardog, horse, follower, and occasionally a quest-specific follower. There are lots of different followers available. Not yet sure whether there's any real difference between them.
Yes, there are Daedric artifacts.

Oh hell yes, I'm excited about it. I got a 50 dollar gift card from target when I bought my replacement PS3 the other day, and a 10% off anything left on my wedding registry, which Skyrim was a part of. So, I'll be headed over there Friday afternoon.

It's just a bummer how it comes out so close to Saints Row the 3rd & Zelda

I'm torn as to when to get this.
I really have wanted to get this game for a long time, and I do most of my gaming on my PS3. However, within the next 3-6 months, I'm looking to get a better gaming PC, and would love to be able to mod this game much more easily.

I rarely get this excited about a game and frustrate myself over what class/race to pick, even with previous ES games.
I have a bit of a problem though--I am an American living overseas, and the Japan Steam release date is quite a bit later than the US store one. Steam is a stickler for IP's, so I wonder if I should just email and request them to recognize my IP, use some sort of blocker/VPN, or if I am screwed.

There's too much I'm playing right now so this is going on my christmas list. The true test will be whether I can wait that long.
This deserves an official thread btw.
