Eh I never understood why Vince kept refering to Vader as a Mastodon but now it makes sense.

Hall and Nash were gone by then. Ahmed suffered his first of 300 different injuries right around Summerslam. Taker and Mankind were feuding with *each other*. And Bret took a good chunk of the year off between Mania and Survivor Series. Am I remembering wrong, or was that because of a fight with HBK?

Plus it was only a couple of years after Vader broke that one guy's neck and was traumatised by the mere thought he may have paralyzed if not killed someone. I can't imagine why anyone would've been concerned about how he worked.

I can't believe I'm coming down on Shawn's side here, but why on earth didn't Vader just, you know, work looser? Shawn will never lose an unprofessionalism war, but I think being overly stiff is pretty damn unprofessional, too. Unless you're a wrestler or used to be a wrestler. Who are you to say whats professional. That's there where a lot of people disagree with you. that's like saying we have no right judge the government. We are not part of the government, therefore, we have no right to judge how well they do. Or if a service clerk in a super market ignores you. We are not a service clerk, therefore, we cannot judge that person. Althoguh we may not what IS professional most of time time, it's entirely possible that we would know what is UNprofessional. Saying we have no right to judge is just wrong. Who pays for the tickets? Watches the TV broadcast? Buys the Pay-Per-Views? Views the Live Internet Stream?

I could see Shawn Michaels crapping his pants in a rough and tumble match with Vader, for example like the beating Hart gave him for quite a few minutes in Montreal. He really cost Vader a lot of money by refusing to get with the program.

Is it just me or is the term "working stiff"" an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp ? Working to me is presenting the illusion that you're beating the snot out of someone without actually doing so. It takes no skill to enter the ring and just pummel someone into submission. I've never really liked Japanese pro wrestling for just that reason; it's just beat the crap out of your opponent until the pre-arranged finish. Agreed. I always liked the Lance Storm quote, "I'd let Hulk Hogan punch my 4 year old daughter in the face". It sort of summed up the "artistry" of pro wrestling. The Hulkster can get tens of thousands of people to believe those big rights can stagger Andre the Giant, but in actuality they wouldn't even faze a toddler.
