A lot of jobbers were just tubby punching bags, but a few of them could work. It just crossed my mind last night that a Rip Rogers vs. Joey Maggs match would have been a pretty entertaining contest. Any other "dream matchups" we've been deprived of over the years?

Did Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz ever wrestle? If not, then I'd like to see that.

On youtube there was a Koko B. Ware vs. Brooklyn Brawler match that was just awesome. Really. I personally would have liked to see a Barry Horowitz vs. Gillberg showdown.

Did Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz ever wrestle? If not, then I'd like to see that. They did team together a few times and I saw them wrestle each other before and... {Spoiler}Sharpe won

"Action" Mike Jackson vs. Rocky King. I'm betting it would have been a damn fine match. I've seen Jackson as he approached 60 bring an entire crowd of jaded old school fans to their feet with a mix of solid wrestling and high flying, and King could always go.

Did Barry Horowitz and Brooklyn Brawler ever have a match?
I swear, I remember watching Superstars or Wrestling Challenge and remember them advertising that match but I don't remember the actual match or outcome.
With that said, Jim Powers was my favorite jobber as a kid watching WWF. Every time I saw him wrestle I always thought he would somehow win. Yet he never did...until I finally watched some matches when he was in a tag team.

This is why I miss Prime Time Wrestling. You were guaranteed an opening contest between two scrub wrestlers. (Usually a show from the Philadelphia Spectrum. I loved that ring apron.) I caught Rene Goulet vs. Salvatore Bellomo on a site, and it was actually pretty good. Rene was arguing with the referee about the fingerless glove he'd wear (to "enhance" the double-handed finisher, his Scorpion clawhold), and Sal got so disenchanted, he'd jump up on the top turnbuckle and lie on the top rope. Every so often, he'd check his wrist or mock-yawn while Rene got ticked off. Good, fun comedy you don't see a lot of in actual matches anymore.
