Nash himself got the pop - Diesel may have made the pop louder...I guess...but, while I can't post a video of it here look up when Kevin Nash returned to RAW after a 9-month absence to attack Flair and HHH. The pop is really just as deafening - there's just something about Kevin Nash that makes him awesome...

A little of column A, and a little of column B. I'm sure if Tyler Black came out as "Diesel" in the Rumble, he wouldn't get nearly that reaction. SAYS YOU FINE! Replace "Tyler Black" with "Eli Cottonwood". There, that change anything?!

Uhh... I think you're thinking of the first Diesel (Kevin Nash). The one that came out at the Royal Rumble was first Kane and second Ultimate Warrior. No, I'm pretty sure he was the 2nd Kane and the Fake Undertaker. No, no, no. The 2nd Kane was the 3rd Warrior, who is now playing the role as the 3rd Rey Mysterio. What you saw at the Rumble was actually the 2nd Rey Mysterio on stilts playing the role of Kevin Nash. The first Rey Mysterio played the role of the 2nd Kane with Hornswoggle standing on his shoulders.

There's always a good chunk of old-school fans in WWE crowds mixed in with the kids and their parents. I don't think it would have really mattered who he came out as.
