It's not too soon, he's retire and WWE wants to make money. I wish I was going to Mania HBK is my favorite of all time. They better show his full speech on USA even if it takes the full hour, sorry other people.

I think this negates the possibility of Sting, at least for this year.
I think even Vince knows that Sting deserves to lead whatever class he's inducted with -- he's that big a name. That said, there's absolutely NO way that Shawn would or should take a back seat to Sting. Shawn's the marquee name for this year.
I also think this eliminates the "WCW Theme" rumor that's been circulating for months. There are plenty of WCW wrestlers that could headline that class, and Shawn Michaels has had absolutely nothing to do with WCW ever. Some WCW names might be inducted this year, but it's not going to be WCW "themed".

Flair went in in Fla. in 2008 as the headliner and he had very little to do with Fla., while the rest of the HOF was very Fla. centered.

This was too soon especially because we just saw Shawn a few weeks ago. Hes deserving but this probably just means there wont be any Savage, Goldberg, Warrior level inductions this year and the ceremony will center on Shawn. I expect Arn, Ron Simmons, maybe Road Warriors, and/or a couple others.

I'll be pissed if Arn Anderson is not apart of the HOF this year.

Don't know if this was posted, but saw this on f4w before Shawn was announced,
First inductee to be announced tonight. Said to be 3 big ones that deals have been worked out for.

Honestly... I could see either Goldberg or Sting not being the headliner if/when they're inducted. I think the headliner is usually reserved for the biggest WWE star being inducted, and neither of them are associated with WWE. Not saying they weren't big, mind you, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't the headliners.

Awesome. I really wish they held this off for a few years because I think it would mean more then after a few years away from the business. But he know doubt deserves it and I guess its a safe bet since I seriously doubt he wants to make an in ring return.

You can go ahead and say Arn is a lock for the HOF this year. The man deserves it and he is one of my all-time favorites. Even as a good guy loving 6 year old kid I thought Arn was the man. You can probably throw Ron Simmons and the Freebirds in to the mix as well. HBK is an obvious choice, but the man damn sure deserves it. They will probably add the Road Warriors to the mix and I would be shocked if Sting isnt inducted this year in Atlanta. If Sting is not inducted this year, then I say that the Macho Man finally gets in the HOF. Unfortunately, I believe that is just wishful thinking by a huge Savage mark lol.

Anyone think it can be Jake the Snake? He's a Georgia native, so it would make sense. Others I want this year: Bruno Sammartino Bob Backlund Randy Savage Owen Hart Vader Brian Pillman WAY too early for Shawn. 2/3 of that list isn't getting in anytime in the forseeable future. Even if they could, that'd be a pretty unrealistic list because they have to space out their big-name inductees a bit. Really, really big load to put on one class. If they put everyone possible in who should be in one class, they wouldn't have anyone the next year. Bruno, Savage, and Owen are admittedly pipe dreams, but all the others have a fair shot. I don't see why Jake can't get in, as long as he's sober for the actual induction ceremony, and I can see WWE sending someone to babysit him for Wrestlemania weekend exactly for that purpose. Backlund is long past due, Vader is a shot if they're doing WCW, and Pillman is the customary late superstar.

Also another name I heard that was rumored to have a good chance of getting in this year is Ron Simmons. Now back to Shawn. Who cares if this is to soon. Flair got in while he was still active. HBK is done, and imo there is no body who hasnt been inducted yet that deserves it more than him. I am stoked, and cant wait to watch his induction.

And you're right as far as HBK goes, I'm loving it too. I wonder if WWE will think about adding Jim Crockett on and maybe Dean Malenko.

Dude... if Eddie Guerrero (Guerrero means Warrior) can get in for dying at the height of his popularity, HBK can get in after a year of being retired.

Arn would be great but maybe they hold off until they could bring Flair in to induct him?
