Was reading the TVTropes entry on the Corre (yeah yeah boo hiss) and a particular theory behind the name that I thought was interesting was that Corre was short for 'Correlation', basically a reciprocal or complementary relationship...which does actually kind of fit their 'Everyone is Equal' theme.

Good suggestion, but I'm inclined to think they did it because poor literacy is kewl.

Trademark issues. There's a movie and a radio station called The Core, already.

Nah, Heath Slater was the one chosen to go to the trademark office to register their name and he spelled it with two 'R's because that's how he thought it was spelled. If any of the others had gone they'd be called the Core. Stupid Gingers.

Slater also chose the entrance music.

The former writer who runs that Creative Recall blog says that the only reason it's "Corre" is that "Core" is already trademarked.

So then what is the explanation behind "Sycho" Sid? Alliteration. Yes, it's the same with the P because the P is silent. I guess it's just more marketable as Sycho Sid.
