So, before RAW, the scuttlebutt was that they would announce The Corre vs. Kane, Big Show, Kofi, and Christian. Instead we got Santino and Kozlov in Kofi and Christian's spots. I'm not going to bash those two, but just know that I am not pleased.
Anyway, what does that mean for Kofi and Christian? I mean, I'm not shocked that they're leaving Kofi off b/c they've been treating him like a jobber lately, but he not only deserves a match, he's one of their biggest midcard stars.
Christian on the other hand...I'm sure he'll be involved in the Edge/Del Rio match somehow, but why on Earth isn't he actually booked for the show? He's been one of the main figures on Smackdown since he returned at Elimination Chamber, you would think he'd be in a match.
WWE is handling Wrestlemania very oddly this year.

Christian is officially in Edge's corner for the World Heavyweight Championship match.
Kofi on the other hand... it's the DVD-exclusive Battle Royal for him.

Its disappointing to me at least for Christian. I could see him predictably turning heel, which wouldn't be bad as he was always a better heel anyway. Still he should really be in a match on the biggest card of the year. At this point the only scenario I'd be somewhat happy with is a WM IX rehash where Del Rio wins than immediately challenges Christian.

At this point the only scenario I'd be somewhat happy with is a WM IX rehash where Del Rio wins than immediately challenges Christian. That would be awesome actually, especially if it resulted in Christian winning the belt. Or at the very least, Edge getting pissed off and costing Christian the match. I've always thought if Edge and Christian were to feud, Edge should be the heel because the last time they feuded in 2001, Edge played the face. But, I love Christian as an antagonist too so I don't care. Sadly, I think we'll just get the very predictable Christian heel turn. It sucks because it really won't make much sense at this point. Christian should hate Del Rio, and Edge actually saved him on RAW so that ruin's Christian's motive of "I always had your back but when I needed help you were nowhere to be found".

The lack of Kofi is really baffling, particularly since the only justification I can think of for having Barrett win the IC title out of nowhere would be if it was to get Kofi involved in this feud.
Would it really have been so hard to have the Corre viciously beat up Kozlov and kayfabe put him out of action, so that Kofi can take his spot? Santino deserves a Wrestlemania match, he's phenomenally over, but Vlad's just his sidekick/straight man, and there are a lot of guys ahead of him who've done more to deserve a spot on the PPV.

Wish we could have gotten Barrett defending the IC title rather than the multi man match. I mean if Kofi and Christian don't have matches, then I don't see why Big Show and Kane couldn't be left off. Not saying that all 4 of them should've been left off, but I would have much rather have seen a Wade vs. Kofi rematch or Wade vs. Christian. I just can't stand big tag matches at Mania and this year we have two of them. I miss the days of every championship being defended at the show.

I think they subtly set up Christian's turn on RAW, with Edge celebrating the win while Alberto had the Cross Armbreaker on Christian outside. Granted, Edge didn't see the attack go down and rushed over there as soon as he saw it, but heels don't exactly need perfect logic to make their turns.

Or else we'll see Kane, Show, Santino and Kozlov arguing in the back over who should be leading the team and then there are informed that the match is cancelled. A callback to Wrestlemania X.

Nathan Jones got attacked by Big Show and Albert on Sunday Night Heat before WM XIX, leaving the Undertaker alone to face those two. You could do the same.

Yeah, it sucks that Kofi doesn`t have a match. The guy is just too good to be sitting on the sidelines. I think Christian will probably turn heel on Edge.

He might be in Edge's corner during that match, that's my guess. Christian doesn't really fit anywhere.
I'd probably have him win the Battle Royal during the pre-show though, as they're starting to strongly push him as a Main Event player. I also hope they don't turn him heel, as I do like E&C together again.

It isn't just Kofi and Christian...
It's Ted DiBiase, R-Truth, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, among others...
I don't get it... MITB could have been great.... Especially if they brought back Shelton as a surprise participant! ;D

They should have added Christian to the World title match, and have had Kofi hang onto the Intercontinental title long enough to defend it in a short match against McIntyre.

I didn't even notice it, but Meltzer said the graphic during Raw showed Christian and Brodus Clay for the World Heavyweight Championship match, which to me implies they will be in their corners.
I don't think Kofi has done anything lately that would justify him having a spot. Same with Drew. It's kind of a shame, but I think it's fine that they are not on the card.

It's a shame that Kofi and Drew don't have a match at the show when you consider the way they were being built before last year.
Christian, well, I may be in the minority round these parts, but I dont see, nor have I ever seen, anything special about the guy and so a corner spot is fine for me, and for his fans, at least he gets on the card and will be featured, unlike the battle royal guys.

I'd have liked to see Sin Cara debut at Mania and Kofi would have been a great opponent.
Though back when I thought it would be a possibility that Sin Cara would debut at Mania, I also thought Kofi would surely be involved with some other feud.

Especially if they brought back Shelton as a surprise participant! ;D Bourne has been out for ages. DiBiase isnt over. Henry is enhancement talent. I can understand their omissions. Drew, R Truth (espc considering he was just in the elimination chamber), and Kofi are the only ones that I think should feel left out.
