From the sheer fact of his appearances in other media alone, it's the Miz hands down.

Miz is getting the bigger push but that was bound to happen because of his reality show fame, but it doesn't change the fact he's mid card. Del Rio has a wrestling background, can work circles around Miz and is more natural on the mic. Del Rio comes off as the bigger star to me.

Miz easily. Del Rio has yet to do anything to impress me, random crazy faces and cheap heat accessories do not a star make.

The Miz, because I've talked to like 10 casual viewers at work who want to know why ADR is "mexican JBL."

Alberto Del Rio. The Miz isn't even the star of his own feud.

The Miz by far. ADR is a terrific wrestler and I want to see him go far in the WWE. But let's be honest, out of the ring all he does is shout a lot about his "destiny" and pull sleazy smiles occasionally. The character needs far more depth before he gets any kind of world title reign.

ADR. Miz has gotten overshadowed in his own main event feud by Cena and The Rock and, despite being champion, is EASILY the least important part of the feud. ADR, on the other hand, just flat out LOOKS like a star. The dude has it all. If only he hadn't debuted fairly recently, I think this poll would be swinging the other way. Miz is a star, but he's not THE star. Build ADR up consistently for another year, and he will be THE guy.

ADR has more experience working main events during his Dos Caras Jr. days, so of course he's going to seem more at ease with a mega-push. That, and the cool confidence of his character probably factors in how he comes across to fans.
On the other hand, Miz's character feels like he's got something to prove, and I don't blame Rock or Cena for that- he's had an angry "take me seriously, dammit!" attitude from the moment he won the title. Plus he's also still erasing the memory of his goofball character from the In-Crowd days.
Both guys are doing a great job, but they're being written very differently.

ADR has potential, but The Miz is easily the bigger deal of the two, real quick or otherwise. And this is coming from a fan of both.

Easily The Miz.
Unless your name is The Undatakah and possibly Edge, anyone on Smackdown doesn't really seem to matter. Though Del Rio is on Raw sometimes, he is a Smackdown guy.
Most fans watch Raw.
Out of sight, out of mind.

I guess Del Rio because Miz has been at the top and been nothing short of a forgettable failure as champion. Del Rio hasn't had his chance yet, so he's still a blank canvas. Miz is a catchphrse that wrestles AWFUL matches and he hasn't improved one bit since he arrivied. His way of "working his way up" was turning heel, being a replacable midcarder and winning MITB. He didn't do anything out of the norm. He didn't do anything to make fans demand he be at the top of the card, and his tepid crowd reactions that basically any heel facing John Cena would get proves the fans still think of him as "eh". The Rock being thrown into this fued makes perfect sense and shows that the WWE itself has very little faith in Miz being the flagbearer of the company. Smart move in my opinion. I'm guessing he drops down the ladder eventually and it won't come soon enough.

Del Rio is leaving the event with a belt.
Miz isn't.

Alberto del Rio, of course.
I can't take the Miz seriously. He is an awful wrestler, and a complete failure as main event.

Miz.
A. He's involved with The Rock. B. I think a lot of fans don't buy Del Rio as a serious main event player yet.
