...How did Edge and Christian manage to stay in tights?
They were the highest card workers that I can think of that don't have a more specific look like Rey, Cena, and Undertaker that didn't wear trunks. I never realized how much tights are a minority until I realized that of the current roster, only Christian, Evan Bourne, Kane, and Yoshi still wear actual tights. JoMo's kind of borderline, though I think his count, or at least they did before his new leather ones.
I'm actually mostly surprised Edge kept his tights for his full run; you'd think Vince would've wanted to market him a little more... Rated R-ily than how he was. That was lame, but still. I still wonder how much of a wrestler's appearance is their own say, and how much is dictated for them.

I think it's like Kane and Shawn Michaels: when you've been in the company that long, long trunks are a part of your trademark. Most of the people that switched to trunks from either tights or pants hadn't been in the company for more than five years (Chavo being the exception, and he didn't get much of a push, did he?).

Primo has recently made the change to trunks and looks terrible.It would be odd seeing guys like edge,taker and Cena wearing them.

Triple H looked a hell of a lot cooler in tights.
My favourites are free-style wrestling singlets though, like Jack Swaggers outfit.

Most of the people that switched to trunks from either tights or pants hadn't been in the company for more than five years (Chavo being the exception, and he didn't get much of a push, did he?). Jericho switched to trunks after he was in tights for almost 10 years. It just looks awkward on him. |

Watch the video of Edge parodying Ric Flair's "road rage" incident, and look at his legs when he locks in the Figure Four on the other driver.
That's why he always wore tights.
