He would have gone to prison where the inmates would kill him immediately. If you hurt a kid and go to prison, you've pretty much just arrived in hell.

he woulda wrestled Punk on PPV Now that would be something else. Assuming that he won the ECW championship and have the show focus on him, the WWE would be face with this. I can't fathom how much scrunity the WWE would have with their flagship star being the prime suspect in a murder case.

Let's see. He murdered his son and wife. In this situation, HE turned himself in. Looking at at LEAST 30-40 years or life in prison for 2 counts of murder. Let's say hypothetically he got out early on good behaviour, once the other inmates found out he killed a kid he wouldn't last very long.

I wish that's how it'd gone down (actually, I wish it never happened, but you know what I mean). I hate it when murderers kill themselves to get out of dealing with the consequences.

so you're telling me that this Beniot guy did it and that Chris Benoit was framed? Yes, and he was all high on those Steriods, because Steroids are illegal. I wish that's how it'd gone down (actually, I wish it never happened, but you know what I mean). I hate it when murderers kill themselves to get out of dealing with the consequences. Well, the short answer to that would be that we'd likely have some answers about what happened, along with a different sort of mess that couldn't be swept under the rug nearly so easily.
There were errors made during the investigation - enough that a jury with even passing familiarity with "CSI" would have formed doubt about Benoit's guilt. One such error - letting a neighbor enter the house unaccompanied - could potentially poison every bit of evidence in that house and would allow Benoit to walk out of a courtroom a free man.
The alternative theory that Benoit himself was murdered can't be included here, but the brain damage = mental defect can. So, we'd still have the doctors and experts and Chris Nowinski talking about the four NFL players and making the reasonable logic that Benoit's level of brain injury could lead to homicide. The drug and steroids issue would have had its lid blown off - Dr. Phil Astin might still be sitting in prison after all this, and Signature Pharmacy would have still been shut down.
All this to think about, and Chris Benoit's not even opened his mouth either to defend or hang himself. Try him as a Capt. Pike-type defendant (/Star Trek) and see where it may take you.

If he hadn't killed himself, well he would be f***ed.
Hardcore Holly would still have one less friend to go lunch with.

Not guilty on account of WORKRATE. Then everybody parties. Judge: The charges against Mr. Benoit are clearly NEWZ. Not guilty! Benoit then leads the entire jury into a conga line out of the courtroom.

You know, I've often thought to myself how much more disturbing it all could have been. Imagine if Benoit had showed up to the PPV like he was supposed to, wrestled his match with Punk, then got on the mic and admitted to the murders after the match. It's amazingly scary how easily that could have happened.
