I would rather trust Triple H to find talent than Johnny Ace. At least I'd see Trips watching a SHIMMER DVD for instance, rather than reading a catalogue. I'm inclined to agree with you. I also take into account the fact that HHH is a far and away better talent than Johnny Ace ever was. According to this, HHH was responsible for bringing in Sin Cara. If that's the case, it can only mean good things. If they really want to do this, I would suggest to them "Hire people who know about wrestling to handle the wrestling and hire people who know about your other ventures to handle the other ventures". If they want to truly expand, then let people who know those markets report back to Vince. Let wrestling people take care of the wrestling. This.

I see this being a mix of the XFL and the worst of the Turner/AOL Timewarner years of WCW. WWE programming will be used increasingly as a means to push other programming, you'll get actors from action shows appearing in character to make the save in main events, muck like Sting and Robocop and when things don't go as well as they hope, there'll be a massive layoff of WWE talent to pay for it, much like in the years post XFL. It won't be Vince and Stephanie who suffer when this doesn't pan out, it will be the roster and the fans, which is just sad. If they wanted to expand into other fields without the stigma of wrestling, why not found Titan Entertainment to develop these projects, the only members of the public who'll know it's related to wrestling are those who actually look it up and whose who put two and two together when wrestlers show up in their output from time to time. Rebranding the WWE isn't going to work, if treat the product that's making the bulk of your income like some kind of STD, how do you expect other people to view it? They should ask the people at SyFy just how well their rebranding and treatment of the fans and brands that made them popular is working out for them. Yeah Smackdown gets a ratings spike, but it hasn't boosted the ratings of their other shows one bit. As far as HHH the talent scout goes, it's kind of funny people would post pictures of 'Liquid' Buck Dixon, given how the only reason he's hired is his dad is a friend of HHH, Henry O Godwin. He might have a better eye for talent than Johnny Ace, but he has a track record of ensuring pushes for people he gets on with over those he doesn't so I think we're in for more of the same.
