Eh, makes sense. Sheamus has only recently been allowed to look competent again anyway, a Mania feud with Triple H the way they'd been booking him would have been a joke.

Wasn't that a bit obvious?
But it does seem entirely counterproductive. Sheamus puts HHH out of action for months, HHH comes back and starts feuding with someone else, Sheamus tries to confront him but easily gets dispatched and HHH goes about his business. Bit pointless really.

It's more than they did for Undertaker and Kane or Barrett and company.

I'd have booked it for Sheamus to ignore HHH til after WM. Deal with it in a "remember me?" situation, assuming HHH wants to wrestle entertain much after Sunday.

No surprise here. In fact, I'm pretty sure that when it came out that Hunter/Taker was likely for WrestleMania it said that they'd likely wrap up the Sheamus/Hunter story quickly on Raw before shifting the focus to Hunter/Taker

Shouldve left it until after Mania. The night after, have Sheamus catch him with the Brogue kick.

I thought this was obvious.
If HHH DIDN'T do anything to Sheamus, we'd all be "OMG WWE forgot. Ugh, no continuity" and then by the time it did happen it'd be too late.

Yeah what a dick he should of had a match with Sheamus and beat him that way, yeah that'd be way better because HHH hasn't wrestled on TV in almost a year so why not have him waste that wrestling return against Sheamus. Not to mention how big a burial that was I mean it shot Sheamus so low into the card he squashed Evan Bourne, won the US title and is facing Daniel Bryan at Mania giving them both a Wrestlemania match.....
Cynical sarcasm aside I'm not surprised HHH made this decision it was what is best for the business whether us smarks like it or not.
Pros -Show that HHH should not be messed with -Set up a potential Mania spot of Pedigree through announce table -Foreshadow what HHH can do in a NoDQ match -Clean Up his feud with Sheamus (which is important because I doubt HHH is wrestling full time again post-mania)
Cons -Berriezed Sheamus for all of one episode of Raw
Seems pretty cut and dry to me

Sheamus can still brogue kick HHH to cause him the match with Taker.
But that might lead to Hunter winning the US title.

well when your married to the bosses daughter, I guess you can do whatever u want to do. Trips is worthless in the ring anymore and his match with taker at WM is going to suck anyways. Taker should be at least fueding with one of the new top up and coming superstars to give a rub instead of rehashing a 10 year old passe fued with trips

Didn't matter if it's Barrett or HHH, Dibiase or HBK. They will/did (in HBK's case) lose. HHH is the next man to run the WWE. Stephanie will be the next woman to run the WWE. They together are the heir/heiress to the WWE. HHH could have done what he's done without Stephanie.

Oh boy. I originally read this as "So this is why HHH beat off Sheamus" and figured the whole GLAAD sensitivity training went better than anyone could have imagined.

No one has to BEAT Taker.. But you can still get a rub to have a big headliner with facing Taker and have a great buildup to WM against taker. It helped get Orton over that threshold to superstardom.
Why does it have to be Triple H? A guy on his way out and already established.. They need to be building superstars for the future, not rehash old stuff

The fact they are aware of Sheamus gives me hope. He's in a Mania match with probably the best offence seller they could make a match legitimate with. They didn't just Kane his character into any old open slot or multiman or mixed tag throw away. He took a hit from Trips, but because it was Trips he can easily recover and after Brian he will be seen as dangerous again I believe. Now if he was relegated to pre-show I'd be worried that he may be getting the "creative has nothing for you", but he will be fine.

That doesn't make him a dick.
Also, Triple H pretty much had to face Taker this year, they were in desperate need of a marquee match up.

Why do people believe this though?
When other things get posted it's like 'loldirtsheet' but with this (and maybe because it's Hunter) it is fact.
