Standford used to do sports for an NY tv station and I liked him then....personally I'd like to see him and Striker working the booth....Stanford as Play by Play, Striker on Color.

He should be Zack Ryder's personal ring announcer. OH GOD YES Is it too late to book Alberto Del Rio / Ricardo Rodriguez vs Zack Ryder / Scott Stanford for WM?

I remember only hearing him on that one Superstars Punk commentated on and thought his voice was good but his banter was lame He's gotten a lot better since then. Punk badgered him about his limited knowledge of wrestling and he REALLY did his homework after that. I'm a big fan. Yeah I remember that. Punk ripped on him for not knowing his stuff during his announcing stint. A couple of months later Stanford is reminiscing about William Regal wrestling British Bulldog for the TV title at Halloween Havoc 93, during a match between Regal and David Hart Smith. He gets really into the matches too, he sounds like a legit fan of Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder.

That's what I like about Scott Stanford. He's willing to learn and to do the hard work to make himself better at his job. He could have settled into a comfort zone on Superstars and he wouldn't have much trouble finding work outside the WWE.
But he's working to get better, has a sense of humour about him and seems genuinely interested in the product. Even if he never becomes "great", that makes me happier to hear him than some of the jaded commentators floating around elsewhere. Not to point out one person in particular, but I don't think Lawler has come off as genuinely interested in a damn thing happening on Raw in a long time now.

I'm also a Scott Stanford fan. He's one of the reasons that I love Superstars. His commentary really adds a lot to the matches (which are usually good ones). It's so nice to have a commentator actually calling the matches instead of rambling on about a main event feud that will get plenty of time later on in the show. I also like his work in Zack Ryder's YouTube videos. I wish he was calling Raw or SmackDown matches. Personally, I would like to have him call the WrestleMania matches (not happening, I know, but he would help make the lackluster matches more interesting).
