How many brink-of-main-event pushes have we seen Morrison go through in just the past year or so alone, only to watch them constantly crash and burn, leaving Morrison in the exact position he's in now -- stuck in the midcard, jobbing out to the people that matter.
For better or worse, that's his position. He doesn't get the crowd reactions that some people claim he does (or he should) get. His promos are awkward and forced. Simply put, the WWE doesn't believe that he's got what it takes to be a main eventer, and they're using him accordingly.
I fully expected him to be fed to Truth to further build his credibility. I was expecting an actual match first, but the end result was the same; Morrison fed to the guy that people and the WWE actually care about.
The closest he'll ever get to the main event is being part of multi-man clusterf***s like the Elimination Chamber, or the occasional triple threat. But don't expect him to ever be the focal point of a main event program. He'll always be a third wheel.

I like Morrison well enough, he looks good and he is entertaining in the ring if not a little spotty, but the guy has zero personality. There is nothing wrong with being a solid mid carder.

I'd say Truth/Morrison is almost set in stone for Summerslam. Yeah, both will be in MITB next month anyway as Truth isn't gonna win at Capitol Punishment. Then Morrison and Truth at Summerslam, perhaps with the MITB on the line to bring the story full circle.

The crowd didn't even give him a pop when he showed his face on the Titan tron.
Ouch.

It was stupid really to bring him back just to have him taken out again. I would have booked somebody else in Morrison's spot last night (maybe Evan Bourne or something).

It's a shame he got basically zero reaction for both showing up on the tron The crowd didn't even give him a pop when he showed his face on the Titan tron. Ouch. It's a shame we can post youtube videos anymore, but his appearence on the titantron got a good pop. I don't know how you could say otherwise. (True that when his music hit for the match, that didn't get much of a pop).

I'd be perfectly fine with a year-long run as IC/U.S. champ; it would build credibility for the belts, Morrison would get his push, and he could put on the matches to justify it. But World/WWE champion? I don't see it. Of course, I said the same thing about Jeff Hardy, and look what happened. Oh, and no post referencing a "third wheel" (such as in the post I quoted) would be complete without Bob and David. {Spoiler} EDIT: I don't know why that's not spoiler-ing....

He is definitely edging his way up there, in stark contrast to the WWEs yoyo booking with most people. Though you may be right - let's see if they pull the trigger on him at MITB. He's been taking speech classes, so it could be his time.

When Truth looked right at the camera, and said seriously that "No one will EVER see that match." it was the definition of perfect foreshadowing. It got everyone much more excited to see the inevitable match.

I just remember the camera panning over to Morrison and not hearing a good reaction. I'm usually the one defending "dead crowds" on this forum because from live experiences, the cameras don't do a good job picking up crowd reactions.

I really want to know what people were listening to. Yeah, he didnt get Orton level pops, but it was a good reaction for Morrison.
Morrisons biggest problem is the fact that the WWE give him nothing to work with. He has his moveset, a flashy entrance and a nice pair of sunglasses. That can only get you so far. No character, no nothing.

I know non-Morrison fans dislike the comparison but after HBK broke up the Rockers he ended up challenging for the title at Survivor Series that year while IC champion, stayed at that level for about two years, challenged Diesel for the title, turned face won the IC title again then finally won it all. That's quite a while nibbling at the main while being uppermid card

He has his moveset, a flashy entrance and a nice pair of sunglasses. That can only get you so far. Bret Hart disagrees but you're right. Give Jomo a short segment of promo-time every week. Even if the first one sucks (and yeah even as a big JoMo mark it's likely it will), give him another shot next week, and for at least a month. Remember how awful and awkard R-Truths first heel promo was? Now the IWC is eating out of his hand. And FFS bring back the palace of wisdom stuff - I'm sure they've told him to stop saying it so he can be bland generic face #5235.

Speak behind the shades at all times, talk like the far out stoner he was in the Dirt Sheet. It worked for him. He was great during that time. We dont have white meat babyfaces at the Palace of Wisdom.

Oh, and Morrison must never smile again on camera. He looks like he is corpsing, and we dont have a man to send for anymore.
