Shawn Michaels kayfabed me in a church, and yes, it's a true story. Please elaborate on this story. This sounds like it could be hilarious. I live in a small, rural town in Alabama. Apparently the head pastor there is friends with Shawn, so while Shawn was "injured" in 2008, he came to speak during the morning services. He spoke about how found religon for his family. He went on about how his religon could eventually cause a divide between himself and the company. He went on about how he no longer feels comfortable in DX because of his religon, and even spoke very candidly about the Benoit incident. After he got finished, everyone got a chance to come up and speak with him one on one. I told him that I really enjoyed what he had to say. He told me, "It's hard for guys like us to devote our lives to Christ," and then he gave me a long, big hug. I guess he thought I was a coked up asshole. Anyway, I then asked when we could expect him back with the company, and he said, "I honestly don't know when I'll be back." The very next night on RAW, Orton cuts a promo on not having a challenger to his WWE title, Shawn comes out, superkicks Orton, does the crotch chop, and RAW ends.

I grew up next door to good friends of the Harts, so I frequently met Bret and Owen back in the day when i was younger wrestling fan. Calgary was quite the scene for wrestling not just 15 years ago. Since then, I've pretty much just met the local Canadian crew, including Harry Smith, TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd), and Johnny Devine.
Also, I had a drink with Tarzan Goto of FMW when I was in Tokyo a couple years ago. We were in a restaurant being loud, and he asked us to be quiet. He felt bad afterwards, so he bought me and my friends a round of drinks and we ate izakaya with him. It was the most random thing I've ever experienced.

I met Jericho when he was doing book signings for his first one a few years back but I am to this day still pissed off about what I said to him.
I hadn't read the book because I knew I had to buy one to make him sign it. I didn't want to just be a generic guy getting his book signed saying DUDE JERICHO YOU f***ING RULE MAN - I wanted to say something that might make him chuckle something. I was wearing my Jerichoholic t-shirt that was about eight years old by that point anyway and I was hoping he'd notice.
In case he didn't I thought I'd ask him about the 1000 holds to try and indicate that I'd been a fan of his for a decade or so by that point, so I asked him how many of the 1000 holds he still knew how to do and he made a crack about being down to 800-odd.
I was really happy with how it went... until I read his book, which in great detail described the 1000 holds promo, meaning anyone in that line who read his book knew about that promo.
Oh well. Thinking about it now, even if I had come up with something awesome I doubt he'd have given a shit either way.

I thought the whole point of a book signing was for them to sign your newly bought book? I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, ha.

Yeah but the kind of people who show up for a book signing will typically have read it already anyway in my experience.

I've met The Miz once, supremely nice guy. And really, really funny. And, if past employees count, I've met Colt Cabana a couple of times, and he's pretty awesome. In a related note, I had a near miss with CM Punk. One day, I saw him and Colt Cabana riding bikes down a street here in Chicago. By the time I realized who I saw, it was too late to try to meet him, and, given the circumstances, I probably wouldn't have tried anyways.

WWFTest once told me to have sexual intercourse with my mother and that he was going to kick my ass and kill me. And yes, the WWFTest AOL names were legit back then. We took pride in Wrestling Chat on how quickly we could dispose of WWF screen names of those we didn't like. The name was verified and everything. Unlike Meanie's and Stevie's which we only knew because of an on air gesture to prove he was Stevie Richards we were talking to in our little WC clique on AOL Chat.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan. He was such a nice guy; liked to call everyone "brother" I'd expect that from Hogan, but with Duggan, I would have thought that he would call people "Tough guy."

As I've mentioned before, I used to live down the street from Miz and Maryse, and I'd run into them quite often.
Based on her tweets about her neigborhood, I'm 95% certain I live within blocks of Shelly Martinez, but I haven't run into her yet.
Met Jericho outside the Whisky when Fozzy played there back in January. We were both hammered and had a Helloween sing along in the middle of Sunset Blvd.
Used to hang out with the Meanie when I lived in Philly. One night I was really drunk and told him and Trent Acid to chop me. My chest was black and blue for a week. It became our way of saying hi to each other. "Hey, Meanie." *CHOP*
And I've met Cabana numerous times at the NWA Hollywood shows. Great guy.
