I started as a wwf fan in the mid 80's, with Hogan, Steamboat, the Bulldogs, Strike Force and others running in the WWF. Then toward the late 80's early 90's, I think I favored WCW's roster even though I still liked the Rockers, Owen Hart and the Texas Tornado in the WWF. I think it carried over through the Attitude Era, as I favored WCW's roster despite liking guys like the Hardys, the Rock, X-Pac and Al Snow. My allegiance changed again after Benoit, Taz, Jericho and others jumped to the WWF.

The peak of the nWo made me watch mostly WCW in '97, but WWF had been how I'd gotten into pro wrestling, so I always felt more of a connection to the product up north (especially when it was guys from there like Nash and Hogan who were making WCW so exciting), and Shawn remained my #1 favorite babyface in wrestling.
By '98, I was back to mainly watching WWF, and that's how I stayed until the end of the year, when I gradually lost interest in wrestling and tuned out for nearly a decade.

WWF/E has always been third on my list behind WCW and ECW. I just preferred those two, I loved them much more before I started watching the WWF. That's one of the reasons why I was so crushed when the InVasion happened. I was marking out for every pathetic WCW curtain jerker that debuted and none of them saw any benefits from being there. I was heartbroken.

I was a WCW fan from 1992 until the bitter end.

WCW fan for life. I watched WWF but never tried to miss Nitro even when it was sucking ass. I defended that company the same way current TNA fans do for their favorite promotion.

As much as I enjoyed WCW (and yes, even its infamous year 2000), I started watching wrestling through WWF in 1991, so I've always had a slightly bigger emotional investment with them.

WCW was alright and I'd watch the first (unopposed) hour, but I would record Raw every week when I took my nap before work.
So that goes without saying I know more WWF things than WCW, probably because I still have those tapes to this day.

Being from NY, my airwaves were always saturated with WWF programming. So when I first got wind of WCW (via my first issue of PWI, my dad got me when I was 6 in 1991) I was extremely blown away by new faces like Ric Flair, Sting, Sid, etc. Then, only a few months later, Ric Flair showed up with the WCW title and I was severely conflicted. We got cable a few months after THAT and I was able to watch WCW Saturday Night, then the PPVs, and then Nitro. So it grew on me. I loved Stunning Steve, Lord Steven Regal, and truly enjoyed Steamboat/Flair 3. Unfortunately, Hogan came in and I shifted back to WWF in time to see the true rise of the Kliq (whom I love)
Once Hall and Nash jumped to WCW, I followed them and wound up switching the 70/30 from WWF/WCW to 70 WCW/ 30 WWF. Watching Nash and enjoying guys like Malenko, Benoit, Guerrero, ALEX WRIGHT, etc really got me excited. Once Raven and Saturn came in, it was the coolest. The Wolfpack was awesome. I loved faction warfare, WCW Revenge was the best game ever, and even Muta came around.
Once the Radicalz came to WWE, and the WCW turned into a calamity, I could tell it was a sinking ship. Sadly, I never stopped watching. Being disappointed every week (Nitro replay immediately after Raw went off the air) lead to my breathing a sigh of relief once Vince bought them out.
It's the exact same reason why I can't bring myself to watch TNA/IW since Hogan came aboard. It really feels like I'm watching WCW's death all over again, and it's really sad for me.

I've added a poll, as it was suggested in a post.

I was a WWF guy through and through, but looking back on it, I like WCW more now. In fact, when I look back on it, at the time I became a fan (late '80s/early '90s), WCW had the better in-ring product.

WWE - until I saw ECW for the first time. Then, I ONLY watched ECW - until Foley turned up on RAW and that was it. The whole Attitude era was fantastic and I became a Rock and Austin mark for life during that period. I think that this is why I'm enjoying the hell out of the stuff going on with Punk, Mark Henry and (god help me) Cena. Weirdly, WCW always seemed too cartoony for me.
That and the fact hat I absolutely HATED the whole NWO thing.....

I was a WWE loyalist. Hardcore. I'd pay attention to what was going on in WCW, but I would never watch over WWE. When something major was going on with the nWo, I was watching the Godwinns dump Uncle Cletus. In hindsight, I can say WCW was better for a period and can watch and enjoy the WCW stuff now on dvds.
