Now that he's kinda face and not wrestling Cena all the time he got to flex his FACE SUPERPOWERS tonight.
Took out both Miz and Truth and needed Nash to come in to even things out. This is the week after Miz and Truth established their alliance.
Is it just a one time thing or have Cena and Orton welcomed another member to the club. Its pretty funny because the guy needed a stable to lose to one person earlier this year.

As I see it:
Edge retired early.
Orton was moved from RAW to take Edge's spot on Smackdown.
Orton's spot on RAW, as the #2 babyface with antiheroic leanings whose gimmick is targeted primarily towards adult males who aren't necessarily crazy about Cena, was left open.
Punk was elevated to fill that void.
WWE has a set number of guys at the top who are treated as mattering (as opposed to everyone else, who is cannon fodder); when one of them left, Punk got to be the new guy moved up to take his place.

Punk getting the upper-hand on both Truth and Miz was pretty stupid. I don't think suffering a Two-on-One beatdown would've made him weak.

I want a backstage segment where THE POWER is passed to Punk. However they are still unsure and think he may use it for evil.

I wonder how long it will take for the majority of the board to actually turn on Punk. Maybe a little longer than usual but it'll happen if they go with that kind of booking for an extended period.
I wouldn't like that booking either.

I'd say it was balanced enough, given the fact that Miz completely owned him during the match more than frigging Cena has been. Seriously, Punk looked weaker tonight if anything.

You mean getting beat down most of the match and getting the advantage at the end??? Thats exactly how Cena's RAW matches played out.

As long as Punk gets a good crowd reaction, then sure.

Did Miz really dominate Cena that much during their matches?

It wasn't like he just over powered them and just out punched them. He evaded them a bit and rammed Miz in the barrier and got R Truth after rolling into the ring using that advantage.

Punk getting the upper-hand on both Truth and Miz was pretty stupid. I don't think suffering a Two-on-One beatdown would've made him weak. Really. It's not like they couldn't have played it to where he basically whooped on Miz and Truth but was eventually overcome by their combined efforts. Then again, I've seen Cena clean out entire locker rooms before, so...... I guess we should just be glad Punk's ratio is just at 2:1.

It's funny how WWE's ring psychology works and how similiar the faces and heels have to work.
If you stopped watching for 5 years and watched the show on mute, you could tell who the heels and faces were in about 20 seconds.

I mean yeah, you can make the argument that Punk was being more evasive, but considering Miz and Truth just became a team it would've been better for them to have the Upperhand in that altercation to make them look like a more serious threat.

It just kind of bothers me psychologically. Yes, CM Punk is a big dog. He's presented as a cerebral wrestler and should be more than capable of stealing one. But you also have Miz who has become the quintessential cocky, cut-throat little scheming bastard now paired with a paranoid, twitchy on the edge of reality Truth and it just seems like it could have played out a little smarter. IMO Punk could still win, but only by the skin of his teeth. It wasn't the dumbest thing I've ever seen, but it was of zero help in establishing the threat of the new union and it could have easily benefitted both parties.

I thought Miz/Truth were made to look weak. They're supposed to be top heels. They shouldn't need Nash to come help them.

It was basically a squash match in Miz's favor until the end. I don't think it made Punk look like "Super Cena" at all.
