On August 8th 2009, The WWE Universe lost its inspiration when Ricky Ortiz got released. Rally Down.
I believe that Ricky Ortiz's heel character had potential, plus he had great hair. I was Ricky Ortiz for Halloween that year.

Well... ah, he definitely had great hair. Props for that. But it was really hard to tell if he was good or bad from the way he was used. Elijah Burke/D'Angelo Dinero is another example of that. I was neutral on him until "The Pope" came around in TNA. It then became clear how awesome he could be. Ricky Ortiz never got that opportunity as far as I know, so I'm still *meh* on him. All he needs is what everyone should get: One chance to shine. Anything beyond that should tell us how deep his talent runs. Of course, that's just what I feel.

Leave the memories alone. Should be easy enough, considering my only real memory of him amounts to, "Yeah, don't call me Atlas anymore. I'm Ricky now."

While the guy was not all that talented, he was actually getting over until he mysteriously disappeared from ECW for whatever reason, and didn't appear for weeks, only to lose a winning streak vs. winning streak match with Jack Swagger. What was the deal with that?

I liked how he went to SmackDown and was suddenly a heel. And how Kane squashed him on the day he was released, ala Kozlov last Friday with Henry.

Atlas DaBone...one of wrestling's all time classic names. Where is the man now?!

Also: Wikipedia says he'll be taking part in some new wrestling federation, despite it also saying he's been dead since last year. Well then.

Loved the episode he was on, because he was constantly talking smack to the contestants. I think he was screwed when he didn't get to use Atlas DaBone as his name. He was Cena levels of over in OVW. Just a shame he didn't make it in the WWE. Really cool guy, too.
