I would think that the Mexican crowds would notice, because Mistico returning to Mexico with the E will most likely be a big deal. I would guess that there will be newspaper articles/interviews/appearances with him. I can't imagine that the E would do have Hunico do that or have Mistico do that and then have Hunico wrestle the matches.
Which is why I'm guessing Sin Cara I will return and there will be Dos Caras in Mexico(hooray for ADR related humor!)

Of course, the WWE could well know what it's doing, with Hunico obviously not being Mistico, and Sim Cara appearing to turn heel last night. They go to Mexico Sim Cara gets booed out of the building, only for the oriiginal Sin Cara to return. Huge return pop (making him look a big deal) and a feud where he's got another experienced lucha star to work with for a while.

Theyre incredibly different in the ring. Trust me, Mexican fans will notice. The smart ones will notice but the casual ones won't. I could be wrong but I don't think it'll be that obvious to casual Mexican lucha libre fans just the same as it isn't always obvious here in the US. A bunch of popular lucha libre mask gimmicks have been taken over by other people and a lot of fans in Mexico didn't notice for years. The most obvious examples I can think of is La Parka and Psicosis when they went to WCW in 1996 and were replaced by two other guys in AAA. If most of the people didn't notice that it was someone else under the La Parka gimmick(who was extremely over in Mexico in the 90s) then they most likely won't notice that it is someone else under the Sin Cara mask. A lot of the IWC like La Parka a lot in a cult following way but something most of them who have never followed Lucha Libre don't realize is that La Parka is a mega star in Mexico. Or at least the gimmick is because the current guy under the mask using the la Parka name is still almost just as big even after they brought back LA Park to feud with him last year. I know about the LA Park/La Parka thing, but this is much more obvious. watch any Misticara match and watch any Hunicara match. Its really noticable. I know Mexico is a lot more markish, but theyre not stupid.

How many casual lucha libre fans are there? By and large the fan following for lucha libre in Mexico is far more passionate then the following in the U.S.

I think american fans are underestimating the mexican audience, they are WAAAAY stricter about their lucha libre and when fans want to see Mistico, they don't want to see Hunico with the same attire as Mistico, they wanna see the real deal. Mistico is about as popular as Cena is in his homecountry, Hunico playing Sin Cara is basically the same as Lucky Cannon trying to take Cenas attire and play up the face of the company, it simply won't work.

Mistico is about a hundred times more popular than Cena is in the US. Everyone in Mexico with access to a TV knows who Mistico is. All I'm saying is that most fans down in Mexico that don't know whether lucha libre is real or not will not know the difference between Mistico and Hunico. Many people on this forum alone didn't even know that it was Hunico on Smackdown last week. The dirt sheet sites said it was suppose to be Mistico's return and a lot of the IWC didn't even notice until it came out that it was Hunico under the mask. BTW Lucky Cannon playing John Cena is a ridiculous example. They look absolutely nothing alike. When it comes to Mistico and Hunico there isn't near as big of a difference. Hunico just weighs about twenty pounds more and is about an inch or two taller.
