I always thought his 1992 theme sounded a little like Owen Hart's/New Foundation which was used for the match before him. That's because it was basically two versions of the same theme. Jim Johnston occasionally uses parts of some themes to build others. Owen's '92 theme was written for Neidhart and I'm guessing they felt it was a good fit for Sid and remixed it for him.

No, he wasn't really bad at all. It is a shame. He was actually VERY good at cutting really intense promos and didn't mess up like 99 percent of the time. But he gets remembered for the times when he did flub a line or screw up royally in some way. While those times are funny, I kind of feel bad that, that is all he is remembered for.

Sid is the mutha' f***in' man.
Seriously he should've been the face of the company in '96. Not HBK.
Plus he was the master of the powerbomb!

I think his last WCW run hurt him because he got alot more mic time, when Sid is at his best when he doesn't say too much but let his actions do the talking. Plus I think Ric Flair's verbal burial hurt Sid's name, the whole softball thing and the scissors attack. All i can remember is his leg flopping around.

As someone who didn't see him wrestle when he was, well, actually wrestling, and thus is retroactively judging, I don't f***ing understand AT ALLLLL how Sid got to be where he was. I just don't 'get' him. I mean, in the ring he was a passable big guy, but...I dunno. I just don't understand his success at all. Like, practically everyone else in the past 30 years I get, but I don't understand Sid at alllll.

Seriously he should've been the face of the company in '96. Not HBK. I think HBK being the face of the company is what helped Sid get over with fans. As good as HBK's second run was and his performance during his first stint was, his "over-ness" with the crowd was very overrated. A majority of the fans at Survivor Series were rooting for him to beat Michaels and I think Sid was the guy for fans who hated the baby-faces like HBK and Bret to root for. Oddly, I think Sid and Austin benefited from both of those factors in their owns ways. Sid never got over as much as Austin but the backlash to HBK and in some instances Bret (more HBK though) led to his increasing fan base.
