Jessie McKay & Neveah are two things about Shimmer that need to go away. No, I'm not trolling.

Nevaeh is hit and miss, but Jessie rules. With gaps in the markets due to injuries, Jessie could step up to be the next big huge indy female babyface.

Jessie McKay & Neveah are two things about Shimmer that need to go away. No, I'm not trolling. Explain. Ok. Jessie's whole "Tee hee, I'm cute" schtick isn't just her gimmick, it's all she's got. I don't get how she's supposed to be the next big baby face when all she does is smile and pose for photos like they're for her high school yearbook. Talent wise, she's not all that great either. She looks clumsy and awkward. I'm not seeing what Steve is seeing. Neveah is tap water. There is nothing going on in that head of hers. She's the Shimmer version of Roderick Strong. I don't get why I'm supposed to care about her when her name is the most clever thing about her and even that is lame. I know some people don't agree with me and that's cool. My point is that Shimmer wants to be taken seriously as a wrestling promotion and these two are the weakest links in the chain.

In fact, I wasn't a fan of the Ohio Girls (Neveah and Ashley Lane/Madison Rayne), and I'm still not. Jessie on the other hand has proven herself to be pretty dang good as of late. Not Eagles level, but good outside of some junk matches (hated her match against Kana for example).

Jessie was part of my favourite three way of the last 5 years, and also had a great series vs. Nicole Matthews. And it wasn't all Nicole.

Don't get it twisted, I wasn't getting defensive, I was legit curious as to your opinion and wanted you to expand on them. I don't watch SHIMMER (yet), so I don't have much to go on for either of them.

Neveah is mostly just there. No more no less. She's kind of a non factor.
Jessie's good, though, and has tons of upside... except she's only as good as her opponent is in any given match. If her opponent is 100% in the game and cooperative (most of her Shimmer matches), the match will be good. If her opponent is weaker, or just wrestles an uncooperative style (eg Kana - at first I thought Jessie just hadn't been up to the challenge of someone that was supposed to be a joshi legend, but then I watched Kana vs Sara Del Rey, hated it, and I understood that Kana's überstiff controlling style is just not for me), Jessie will look weaker and somewhat awkward.

If you guys swear by Jessie's match with Eagles then I'll have to see it. If the match is as good as you say then I will gladly admit I was wrong. However, from what I've seen of her so far, she's a one trick pony. The "right opponent" factor doesn't fill me with much hope either. SDR, Melissa, and MsChif don't need the "right opponent". If McKay is supposed to be on their level then she needs stop screwing around. I know a lot of people blame Kana for that Chikara match but to me it looked like McKay was lost without a map out there.

Neveah really is just kind of there. Even when she turned heel at the last tapings, which is sad.
Jessie blew me away. She has come so, so far in the last year in all aspects of her game. Here's a big, tall girl throwing down crisp hurricanranas onto the floor from the ring. It was amazing. Sells like a champ, gets good heat as a babyface, can talk a little bit. I said the exact same thing and truly believe she can have a break out 2012 along with Nicole Matthews.

I think Jessie is kind of weak of character, but that's more writing than anything else. And I agree that Kana's style just doesn't mesh well with a lot of people. I was there for all of her SHIMMER matches, and only the LuFisto and SDR matches meshed well. Jessie has had a lot of good matches in SHIMMER, and none that anything less than solid. She's a solid, hardworking performer who plays the babyface in peril perfectly.

If you guys swear by Jessie's match with Eagles then I'll have to see it. If the match is as good as you say then I will gladly admit I was wrong. I'm not a huge fan of that particular match. It's solid, and both girls know each other very well, but IIRC it's a "heel works on a body part for 1/2 of the fight" type of match, with a lot of selling by McKay. Also, it didn't help that it came, on the card, a couple of matches after Sara Del Ray/Summerlyn, where Sara had spent her entire match torturing her opponent's pinky finger... so I was kind of tired of that whole approach. As far as i'm concerned, she's not there yet. Nicole Matthews probably is closer to that level, if she's not already there. But as far as Jessie goes... in a year or two, she might be.
