The New Age Outlaws also mocked Bret's stroke in one of the early shoot interviews they did after Billy was released from WWE. Lost all respect for them after I saw that.

Well, he made a good point about working stiff vs. working safe. He just said it in an offensive way.
What he said about Shawn is practically what everyone has said about Shawn before. Nothing new there.

Is there even any money in a HTM shoot? He seems to have a bunch of them, is there really anyone who watches him and is left wanting more? When Jim Cornette goes off on a tangent he at least has a sense of humor about it. HTM is just so full of bile and venom that it's just uncomfortable to watch. He's lucky to have had that Intercontinental title reign that's really his only claim to fame.

I agree that it was low to say it like that, but I also agree that it's better to work too soft than too stiff. Also, FWIW, there seemed to be no hard feelings between the two when HTM was interviewed on Bret's radio show: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IdwGYfQ2XY

Isn't that video like 5 years old? I'm pretty sure sure Honky shoots on everyone, whether they're friends or not. He shot on Savage pretty harshly for how he treated Elizabeth, but still was very upset when he died.
Also, I find it weird that people find Honky disgusting, when Cornette does the same sort of things in his videos, yet when he does it, it's "funny" or "genius".

As far as I can recall, Cornette hasn't made fun of any person's disability of misfortunes. He just really dislikes certain individuals. Unless you consider Vince Russo to be a person with special needs... at times I do think he is mentally handicapped.

Honestly, if they give someone a longer run with the IC strap ( and credit where it's due, he did well with that character), the guy's relevance is GONE.

I always thought he was a dink ever since refusing to drop the IC title to Savage Especially when you consider that (it's a rumor albeit) that HTM threatened to take the IC title to NWA if he was going to be forced to do the job to Savage.

Would he even have been able to do so? Were the wrestlers not under contract back then? "Do as you're told or you're fired!" Wouldn't HTM bringing the IC title to the NWA just earn him a big lawsuit? That's why I've always thought that rumour was highly exaggerated.

I suppose it depends if WWF made wrestlers put a deposit down on the belt itself. I believe as long as you don't "defend it", then you're okay. But it's not like this was anything out of the ordinary since Flair, Madusa and Haku all showed up in other companies with the belts, but never defended them. Hell, Jarrett almost did the same thing in 1999.
Even if that was the case, I'm sure this is a BS rumor. He probably didn't have a problem with dropping the belt, but likely wanted a big payday for it. And it's not like Honky had some sort of backstage presence or was physically intimidating, so I can't see why Vince wouldn't just pull a fast one on him like he did Richter.

I can't stand listening to Cornette go on some of his ridiculous rants. Like HTM, good points, comes off like a psychotic douche.

How is that baseless? When he cuts into someone in a shoot (usually extremely cruel in the sense), I see people basically praise Cornette on doing it. And he physically mocks people all the time...hell the thing with Kevin Dunn was only the most recent in a long series of them. Cornette comes off as the kind of guy, if you don't agree with him, then he thinks you're an idiot.

You are just assuming that the same people who are calling HTM an ass are the same people that praise Jim Cornette. No one in this thread is trying to claim that Cornette is above HTM or better than him. Personally, I don't care for Cornette since, as you said, he really does come off as the kind of guy who goes, "You don't agree with my opinion? Well, f*** YOU!"
