Once the Attitude Era started he would have had to change things a bit if he had stayed.
Tom Brandi was behind the times in doing the Patriot (whether or not he truly bought the right from Wilkes). He should have resumed the Patriot for WWF and turned heel, maybe even doing an anti-American gimmick sticking up for Canada against the screwjob but he'd probably be destroyed by DX. Still it would've been better than becoming Tom Brandi and only lasting a few weeks after the small Mero feud.

The only time I really liked him was when he was in the GWF. His tag team with Marcus Bagwell in WCW annoyed me and he just didn't really fit in WWF.

I thought he was ok, even though his gimmick was somewhat hokey. but kurt angle's wasnt? Yeah, but Angle was a heel so it worked for him. Patriot was supposed to be a serious babyface, feuding with a main eventer right away.

I always liked the guy, though I only actually saw his Global and WCW runs. I've got a signed replica of his mask in my collection.
I've always marked for the masked guys though.
