He would also do a chokebomb-type move as a finisher.

really funny guy, hilarious heel
as The Mountie, I've seen him using cattle prod, pilvedriver and (once) this chokebomb as his finisher

I'm surprised he didn't turn face with his "I'm The Mountie" theme. I would love a to see him do something now like they do for ted debiase when he makes his cameos.

He also finished a match with a dropkick. Nothing fancy, just a standard, typical dropkick. Pinned the guy clean as a sheet. If you've never seen a mountie throw a dropkick it's the damndest thing.

I remember being pleasantly surprised he was used against Bret Hart toward the end of 1991. After the jailhouse match, I figured there was no use for the Mountie character, since it appeared he was created as a foil for Bossman anyway (much like Nailz). Instead, the Mountie stuck around and was used well for awhile. And as much as it would've been nice for him to have a longer IC title reign, it should be noted that he played the character well enough that people loved seeing him love the championship in short order.

Sadly underrated wrestler in an underrated gimmick. The Mountie was great then, and great now. Jacques Rougeau may be something of a jerk in the real world, but as a wrestler he was always aces.

Funny enough, barbershopwindow.com just started selling a pretty kick ass Mountie shirt.

I love that rapper Action Bronson shouted The Mountie out in the first line of one of his biggest songs this year:

I have his Jakks figure. It lists his finish as the Quebec Crab.

How odd. Not once did I never see Jacques Rougeau use a Crab variant. Back when the crab/knee drop combo was the tag finisher it was Raymond who applied the Crab.

I worked under the impression that it was just a Boston Crab with a new name. It is Jakks. "Shocking Dude with a Fake Cattle Prod" is a little long for the box. Also, in or around that time the actual RCMP killed an unarmed dude (slight lie, he got his hands on a stapler.) who didn't speak a lick of English with more tasers than Mountie ever dreamed of. So maybe that was part of it.

not really a fan.to me he was one of the first ic champions you knew was never ever gonna be wwe champ and i hate that. Only 4 of the men who held the IC before Mountie became WWF champion at some point. Savage, Warrior, Morales (who won the IC belt like 9 years after being WWWF champ), and Bret. And Bret didn't win it until a year or more after Mountie had the belt...for a weekend. So, I don't understand your position.

I'm a fan of The Mountie/Jacques but I understand it.
WWF World Champ Valentine, Steamboat, Perfect, Von Erich, etc. didn't seem like ridiculous concepts. I agree that The Mountie was like the 1st IC Champ that you knew the character was going nowhere past IC level. At 3 days, even WWF knew Mountie was just good for a transition reign (the 1st for that belt IMO).

I have his Jakks figure. It lists his finish as the Quebec Crab. I saw that, it's actually a bit disappointing that they didn't do a better job and put his jacket on him and give him his "shock stick". Overall...I loved the Mountie...just so darn over the top, you can't help but enjoy it. I miss that WWE.

Depending on what story you want to believe, WWF took the belt opff Bret because A)His contract was expiring and they were afraid he was gonna leave with the belt to WCW B) They wanted to do Bret vs. Piper and have Bret go over. So they gave Piper a thank you run and transitioned the belt from Bret to Mountie.

I liked his original theme. Never liked the comical song they used later.

Absolutely despised the Mountie and the Quebecers so he must have been doing his job right
