In every great WWE commentator team, at least IMO, there is a Strong Heel and a Strong Face, someone who has the stones to counterpoint the Heel with pro Face arguments. This is not really the case in current WWE, as the Heel Commentator kind of dominates the commentary, taking enjoyment away from the show, IMO. Would adding a Strong Face commentator with the stones to just openly challenge Cole (and back it up, if need be, despite his size), make Cole's Heel commentary more tolerable?
If this would be the case, I'd vote (out of who WWE has) Joey Styles. I mean, if Joey could crack JBL, he'd have no problem with Cole.

Yes, most certainly.
It's pretty evident by how much more entertaining the commentary is on Smackdown over Raw.
Lawler is just too damn dull these days. A guy like Booker really makes things energetic and interesting in the booth, especially sitting next to an adversarial figure like Cole.

I really don't know. They way things went with Lawler and JR there, they spent more time arguing with each other than anything else.

Definitely. We need JBL there to tell Cole to shut up. Cole will always be goddamn annoying because he doesn't know how to tone it down, but right now he's just insufferable there's no one to counter him. Usually it involves Cole going on a 10 minute rant followed by silence since nobody says anything.

The thing is though, Cole is not just endorsing the actions of heels and occasional making a snide comment about a face like Jerry Lawler (he was honestly the first name that popped into my mind) used to. He is outright burying the faces at the expense of the rest of the product. That's the main problem with Cole. He's way too overbearing. A strong face commentator wouldn't solve that problem, IMO.

Nobody genuinely believes that Daniel Bryan is a loser because he doesn't own a television set. That's the point of an over-the-top character. People tend to disagree with that person's wild opinion.

Ya know, I would really like to hear Edge's voice every Monday Night.
He's a guy with a lot great technical insight, and he's no pushover. He could certainly put Cole in his place when needed.

I think it would help to balance things out, but I think Cole just needs to be turned way, way down. I remember Striker as the heel commentator, and while he was clearly siding with the heel, he did it in this usually calm, basically rational manner, and he would banter with the other commentators, instead of arguing and yelling at them all the time. I want something like THAT, never mind putting in ANOTHER "strong" commentator, if Cole is what counts as strong.
