Money is everything. You can't be happy without it so it makes sense that people strive to have it in their lives. A lot of people go overboard with it, but money is the be all end all when it comes to motivation.
If you don't believe me, I'll pm you my address and you can send me all your disposable income as proof that I'm wrong.
They say money can't buy happiness, but have you ever seen a person look sad on a jet-ski?
Very much agree with these thoughts.
I've heard people say time and time again that money can't buy happiness, but that's a farce. Money can't buy you that sensation of happiness per se, but it can move you so much toward it. I hate hate HATE it when people downplay the neccessity of money in the world. It what makes the world go around. Of course, people have different thresholds for what level of money makes them feel happy or comfortable, and that creates the divide of why we are having the debate on the first place.
On the flipside of the pro-money side, do not be a patently shallow, materialistic piece of shit like so many rappers I can't stand who brag and show off money and their conquests as if it's the only reason for existing. The things that make me happy--a type of food, a type of music, being able to spend time with my family--come from money, but I use them to get away from it and focus on other ideas. I think of life as making money to not have to think about money.
Moreover, money can take away sadness and stress--a thing that's perhaps more importantly increasing happiness. For example, I feel stress over things like not being able to have health insurance or allow my dad to have the ranch he's dreamed of or not being able to buy my girlfriend a plane ticket home for Christmas. Variety of different scenarios, but having enough money solves all those problems.
