Hey Arnold came just as I was reaching that mid-teen "I'm too old for cartoons now" phase, so I never saw much of it, so I voted Doug even though it hasn't aged well at all.

Hey Arnold was good and surprisingly deep for a Nicktoon. Yeah it had some oddness, but it was grounded in that weird reality that exists for a 12 year old. There was a central realness and simple issues with some definite BIG issue lurking at the edges. Doug was....essentially a fantasy. Doug retreated into fantasy when it came to dealing with problems, and in the changeover from Nick to Disney his problems went from "Real" problems to increasingly "Fantasy" problems and situations. It is kind of a strange thing that a show dealing with a 6th grader was more of an imagination, kiddy type of show (like Blue's Clues) while the one based around a 4th grader was easily enjoyed by wider and older age groups.

I have to admit, I'm shocked by the results here. Considering Doug's history on this forum, I thought he would've run away with it. If it was a poll on which show had the more obvious lesbian....then sure.

I prefer Doug, strictly based on I could never get into Arnold stylistically. I recall it being a well written show with some great voiceover work, but I prefer the look of Doug so much more.

Doug. I loved that show, and I always hated Hey Arnold.
