It also had the Russian fight. I'm still waiting for CM Punk to make reference to this...

I think it's the "Batman & Robin" of the Punisher series. So stupid and over the top I can't appreciate it outside of "lolz how dumb". I'm a big Punisher fan and I know he's a pretty over the top character, but the Max series by Garth Ennis shows you can do a serious, gritty Punisher story and still have people's heads getting blown off and shit.

I wish they did more movies under the Marvel Knights banner. I believe the new Ghost Rider movie is under the MK banner.

It's actually my favorite Punisher movie, as I was a fan of the comics of the 80's. It strips the Punisher of having to have the long, drawn out "Origin Story," and just gets down to the business of Frank being Frank, and just offing criminals in all kinds of ways. I thought Stevenson was great as Frank Castle, as one would imagine him from those early days. And yeah, Jigsaw and his brother were a bit over the top....but it was an Over the Top movie, which I thought fit the material well.
It's the only Punisher movie I own, let's put it that way. Thomas Jane was decent as The Punisher, but the movie took material from a popular storyline (The Garth Ennis relaunch in the mid 2000's Marvel Knights banner), but used it very differently than it was used in the comic, which kind of killed it, in my book. Plus, there was way too much focus on Travolta's crime boss character, as if I think Travolta was probably told that HE was actually the main character of the movie, which probably meant a LOT of added scenes, which watered down the whole thing as well.
And Dolph Lundgren......never bothered.
And for those that would bash it for being a stupid, almost cartoonish action movie at times, I would say this.......so? It's the friggin' Punisher.....Of Course it's going to be over the top and stupid. It's meant to be a pop corn movie from the basic concept alone.
