I dont go to McDonalds to eat oatmetal or soup. I want greasy meat and when I don't I eat chicken. I agree. It doesn't mean that I give a crap if they sell other stuff though. Then again, Wendy's chili is pretty damn good so maybe it's not the worst idea. You know the chili is made out of the old hamburger patties, right? What went on the grill but didn't sell in time for a burger goes into the chili. Pandering to the Anzati client base. I don't know how many people will get that. But I say "Bravo".

Essentially it is just making use of meat that was too dry, which is fixed by chillifying it. It isn't poison.

You know the chili is made out of the old hamburger patties, right? What went on the grill but didn't sell in time for a burger goes into the chili. Essentially it is just making use of meat that was too dry, which is fixed by chillifying it. It isn't poison. Often times it does have quite a bit of congealed fat on it by the time it went in, since you kept the meat until you needed the chili. Then you pretty much boiled the juice out of it, drained it, and then chopped it for the chili. I made the chili more times than I can count, and I never thought it was really good. But to each his own.
