Like, still being featured in Main events, still doing public appearances, but completely being buried in ring? I can't think of another wrestler who had such a polarizing experience on the wheel o bury.

I'd say Morrison. In kayfabe he was pretty much the #3 face on the roster despite his big losing streak and Ryder's popularity.

How is he being buried in the ring? It's not like he's being squashed in 25 seconds by JTG without any offence. He's losing, sure, but it's to established main eventers in (reasonably) competitive matches, as far as TV matches go.

There's been plenty over the years. Don't worry...your boy will be back to manhandling midcard talent and holding his own with main eventers in no time. Hell, I wouldn't even put it past them to have him be the one to take the belt off Punk.

Oh I know he's bouncing back, he's way to popular for them to keep him down too long, but every week.....my hope......my dreams *cry*

I've got a theory. They'll keep the Miz off of Wrestlemania, and if all goes good turn it into a face turn post 'Mania.
If by some strange, however unlikely, reason Rock or Cena go into business for themselves Miz will run in, clusterbang the whole thing in an effort to cover for the E and explain why there's a wave of refs running down the aisle, and heel it up big post 'Mania.
He might not be the first choice to really get involved, but from a story stand point he's right there after last years Wrestlemania. If, and really he wont, he's not needed than not being on the card could be a massively humbling experience for him that character wise helps him grow and garner a bit of sympathy.

yes, and IMO the storyline is leading to him on Team Teddy and turning face.
But MVP and Morrison were both buried worse. MVP kind of recovered at first. Morrison didn't. Hell, MVP was still over but he wanted to go to Japan and wanted a fresh start (from his own mouth). Morrison looked legitimately shocked when the MSG crowd was chanting for Ryder.

Triple H was buried pretty bad but he wasn't doing media or in the main events. He just plummeted from mid-card to nothingness

Booker T for a while, MVP for sure, Matt Hardy pre-insanity, obviously people like Santino and Khali, most tag teams, most divas... I dunno Miz isn't doing that bad by comparison, and it seems like everyone EXCEPT HIM is complaining about his recent depushing. He is complaining in kayfabe though.... almost like he is cool with it because of the storyline.... weird...

I feel like people never quite understand the meaning of the terms "buried" and "squashed". The Miz is not being buried. It's an angle, a storyline. Just because there was, at one point, ridiculous heat on him for Survivor Series low buyrates that were not his fault in the slightest, that does not make this a burial. It's character development, it's a storyline.
An example of a burial would be after Rick Rude walked out in '97 due to the MSJ, and WWE replaced him for one night with Harvey Whippleman, causing Shawn to superkick him and say something along the lines of "I guess you could get anyone to fill that role."
I would not call John Morrison's final year or so a burial either. It was more of him becoming stagnant because of his backstage attitude and, honestly, dwindling skills in those final months due to his attitude. Why waste a Main Event push on someone like Morrison who had the attitude he did because of the "woman" he was with? For most of 2010 and the first few months of 2011, I'd say John Morrison was in a better place than CM Punk. When nothing was getting done, Punk did something to make sure there was change. And now CM Punk is arguably the #1 babyface. Morrison instead complained and waited for his contract to expire.
Nowadays, the closest thing you'll get to legit burials are things said in promos, commentary or on WWE.com/Twitter. Or especially the WWE Magazine. I can't tell you the last superstar to actually get BURIED on television for months before being released or something. There's a difference between a burial and just not being used properly, as well. Low Ki wasn't buried, he was misused and quite honestly, wasn't a fit for WWE to begin with.
And as far as a squash goes? I know nobody's said it in this thread, but Miz wasn't "squashed" by Sheamus this past Monday, he hasn't been "squashed" at all. Squash is a slang term in wrestling for a job match to get the person who wins, over. Brodus Clay's matches have been squash matches.

Talk about giving preferential treatment. CM Punk has complained about various booking choices from early in his WWE career, while Morrison makes one remark about working with Trish Stratus, yet it's Morrison with an attitude problem? Come on.

The point of my post wasn't even about Morrison or Punk, it was using them as examples, stating that even Morrison wasn't buried. So I got a little off topic. Back the f*** off.
