And I don't mean physically (though I'm sure it'll catch up with him) but with him (over-)selling most people's offense, do the higher-ups just think of Dolph as a guy that can make others look good, therefore not giving him a legit chance as a top contender?
Just something to think about.

It is a worry to be honest. I remember Paul Burchill became a jobber purely because creative thought he was so good at making other wrestlers look good.
A bit unfair really, punishing guys good at selling by jobbing them out whilst pushing ones who don't sell as much.
Ziggler though, I think is talented enough and charismatic enough so it won't effect him. Burchill was great, but lacked the charisma to connect with the fans. Ziggler doesn't have that issue.

It depends - HBK was used to make others look good early in his career, and it all worked out fine for him. That said, Ziggler has a long way to go to get near HBK's level in terms of charisma and promos.

I don't think being the guy who can have a match with anyone will ever hurt someone. It doesn't matter who he's in the ring with, Dolph just molds his style to fit the match and both guys are over by the end of the match.

Oops, I assumed the question was about physical hurt and voted yes. Stupid not reading!
I say no.

I don't think so. Dolph is just full of energy in a way that I've never seen in a wrestler. His selling may be "hurting" him in the sense that they want him to take moves, but it's helping him in the sense that he should always have a job. Personally, I think Ziggler will be the next HHH in terms of being THE heel in the company but we'll see.

I think it already has. His two programs at the title he was treated as an afterthought for the face champ/heel manager program that was going on at the time. In 4 months, he's gone from wrestling for the WWE title, to tagging with the former US Champ against 2 comedy gimmicks.

He could turn it down, but i don't think he should be punished for it.

I love his selling. I wish he would work programs with only the top guys, just to sell how devastating their wrestling is. I don't like when he does it for guys like Brodus though, no matter how amazing he can make it look.

Dolph's just missing something that would make him a main eventer. I still don't know what it is, but I do know that his current gimmick is one of a mid-carder.
I do think though that Ziggler's very overrated on the mic and had one memorable promo to his name (the one with Foley). Outside of that, I haven't seen anything that special from his mic work.

I think it works great for what he is. I think Dolph Ziggler is the prime example of a guy who is a perfect midcard/sometimes upper midcard guy that they use to push the new upper midcard/main event babyfaces. And he's great at that role. Not everyone has to be a main eventer.

Heath Slater's selling is probably hurting him, but Dolph Ziggler's helped him stand out from the pack. The difference is Ziggler adds the little touches that make people want to see him sell.

I wanna see Ziggler sell Ryback's lariat. I'd probably pay money to see them have a match.

I wanna see Ziggler sell Ryback's lariat. They better do it in an open stadium or he'll get caught in the rafters.

Yes, it probably is, physically.
Plus, they can always use guys to "make the other guy look good". Dolph may be Raw's answer to Christian before any of us realize it.

Ziggler collects a paycheck that is most likely larger than that of anyone here, all for flailing around convincingly. Given that wrestling is a job and the intent is to make money, I'd say he's having all the success he needs... or possibly wants.

Remember when they first traded him to Raw and made him SRS for a week? Cut his hair had black tights looked like generic Randy Orton clone #453? I think that was WWE agreeing with you then quickly realizing they went about looking for the missing piece completely the wrong way.

You're right about wrestling being about making money but don't you think being the WWE Champion would be a goal to reach even if you were doing it for the money? Its common knowledge that being champion means you will make lots more money in WWE. On the topic, I think it's not just his selling that's holding him back. I can't take him seriously. His promos are weak, most his matches are him taking other moves in an over the top manner. His offensive moves don't look that great. The whole "Show Off" shirt tucked into his tights and sunglasses on the back of his head just look silly.

If the Rock has taught me anything, is that you can oversell the crap out of anything and still be successful.
