Overall great card and it is awesome to see Nate Diaz finally starting to live up to his potential.
Diaz vs the winner of the Bendo/Edgar rematch should be a great fight.

What happens after one disappointment and a mediocre UFC on Fox?
Well...an entertaining one. That's good...except:
Ouch.

Yeah, that's not surprising at all. The only way you can sell these cards on FOX is with a big name, but then that hurts the PPV business (which is already having a severe lack of major draws) so the only thing they can do is hope that these cards build new stars like Nate Diaz and Alan Belcher.

Let's face it, as unexciting as Evans/Davis and Sonnen/Bisping was, and as disappointing as JDS/Cain was, people were more interested in those fights because of who was in them.

Anyway, I wonder one thing about that Diaz/Miler fight. Was Jim Miller exposed as being not that good, or is Nate Diaz just that damned good? Wow, that was reminiscent of his bro. After he won The Ultimate Fighter, those first few fights had me doubting his abilities. But he's come on lately with a good string of fights and is so damn dangerous.

Nate Diaz has definitely improved since going back to 155. Between this fight and the Cerrone one back on the NYE card, he definitely is a title contender.

I hate to say it.... but I think Nate Diaz is that good. He seems to have finally figured it out (in the octagon at least..... he's still a douche outside it).

Honestly, I'm not surprised since Cinco De Mayo is apparently a holiday that we celebrate in America now by getting hammered and up against a good boxing PPV. Though the lack of names definitely doesn't help either.

I don't know about that. To me (I am a casual fan I best and just wanted to see a fight) it wasn't the lack of starpower, it was every time I tried to tune in, it looked like an infomercial for the next PPV that I cannot afford to get. I know UFC makes the most cash off the PPVs and wants to push them but they need to find a better balance if they want to make the FOX stuff seem more than a PPV preshow.

It always warms my heart to watch my childhood best friend and next door neighbor for years knock someone out in the UFC, sadly Pat Barry was one of the more likeable fighters.

I was there live for this event. My first time seeing UFC live, I didn't realize how long their live events are. Six hours is too much, especially when so much of the undercard consists of guys walking in a circle while facing each other and occasionally gingerly kicking each other in the shins. It also didn't help that there really is no sense acknowledging the live crowd. Outside of Bruce Buffer's announcing, the crowd wasn't addressed once. A fight would happen, and then the lights would come on and somebody would play their iTunes playlist over the soundsystem for 10-15 minutes, then out of nowhere again we'de get another fight starting. For all the advancements UFC's made to legitimize itself in recent years as a respectable sport and quality programming, they really need to try harder as a live entertainment product. And if you think UFC on FOX was a promo show for the pay-per-views, imagine having to watch all the promotion for it live in stadium seats knowing you were getting hyped for something that isn't happening.
Really boisterous Jersey crowd, the guys who stood and yell, regardless where they were, did it for every single fight. Lots of "U-S-A" chants against the foreign fighters as well.
I don't know if it picked up on Fox, but the biggest reaction of the night was by far Koscheck. I'd say at least 3/5 of the crowd was chanting "f*** YOU KOS-CHECK" during the last two rounds. Why do people hate him so much?
I have to say, the difference between the fights aired and Fox and the undercard is astronomical. The only worthwhile bouts were "the Ninja of Love" Nick Denis (Was great seeing that name on all the lightup screens) vs. Roland Delorme and seeing Louis Gaudinot in action. It was Gaudinot's hometown and even though there wasn't much of a turnout for his match (he was second or third on the card) the place absolutely erupted when he won. Great showman too, really hope they find a lane to make him a superstar. Very likable.
Two more observations: are entire families going to UFC events a regular thing? I saw a lot of families there, complete with 8-year-old kids in Tapout shirts. Also, this was the first sporting event I've ever been too where strangers were roaming around trying to get people to gamble on the fights with them.
Overall, I'm glad I went, but it's nothing I ever need to see live again. If you're planning to ever see UFC on FOX live, I'd suggest being fashionably late, even if you're a diehard.

Koscheck's a douchebag, or at least acts like one quite well.

I thought the Jersey crowd stunk, to be honest. The booed nearly every fight. Not every fight is going to have a highlight reel KO. I've been to three live events (119, UFC on Versus 4, I think.... the one with Bendo/Miller and Hardy/Lytle, and the 2nd Fox card) and I loved all of them. Mir/Cro Cop was awful and I still had a great time. I will do my best to attend any UFC event that is near me. I love it!
