Who are guys that have a great reputation for being approachable and helpful? I know that a lot of people think very highly of guys like Arn Anderson and Mick Foley, who else would be on that list?

Ricky Steamboat
I've also always heard that the Hulkster has a great reputation when it comes to fans, brother.

Bobby Eaton's supposed to be incredibly nice. Foley wrote a story about him in his first book about Eaton giving a homeless guy $100 and buying him some whiskey and a new shirt.

He's not a major name, but was a former WWE developmental guy, and I tell this story to brag on him whenever possible:
Navy Blue(Alias DeSean Bishop) is EASILY the nicest guy I've ever met in the business. I met him at the WWA4 school in Atlanta, where he trained under Mr. Hughes(who's a pretty nice guy himself), but this story is from a small indy show in GA. I was there with a few friends and my cousin(who was dating one of the workers at the time), when another cousin of ours showed up. This cousin is a good kid, but he's a little.....slow(I don't know the exact diagnosis, so I just used a catch all, no offense meant), and REALLY wanted the autographs from the wrestlers, none of whom were big names, but he was nervous to approach them. Since we knew Navy, we took him up to meet him, and not only was he very nice and approachable at the school, he actually took the kid around to all the boys and made sure he got everyone's autograph. It's still, make a wish stuff notwithstanding, the coolest thing I've ever seen a wrestler do for a fan he had only just met.

I've got a few.
Adam Pearce. The guy went out of his way to say hi to me when I was tightening the ropes at an NWA Show, and is just one of the most courteous and respectful guys I've ever met.
Sinn Bodhi. Again, backstage at NWA Hollywood, he gave me and my friend a 30 minute lecture on ring psychology, and the different types there are.
And then there are the legitimate friends I have in the business, and guys I train with. Willie Mack, Peter Avalon, Johnny Yuma, Buggy, Ray Rosas, Joey Kaos, Shannon Ballard, Jarek Matthews, Todd Chandler, Mikey O'Shea, etc. these guys are all amazing people to know, and a lot have helped me immensely since I decided to get into this.

I met Davey Boy Smith before a WWF house show back when he was the IC champion in 1992, and he was really nice. Posed for photos with my family and signed autographs.

As for nice guys I've met, just through the GA indy scene, usually:
Bobby Eaton-Everything said about this guy is absolutely true. He's a class act.
Chip Day-Dude's one of the maybe 4 wrestlers that I actually consider a friend. And was one of the 3 people that were cool to me during my disastrous night as a ring announcer.
Pretty Boy Floyd-A veteran of the GA scene, and a really cool dude.
Low-Ki- Met him at an indy show back in...I wanna say 2005, and he was awesome.
Bull Buchanon- Really cool dude. And MUCH bigger in person than he looks on TV.
Johnny Swinger-Didn't really talk to him, pretty much just shook hands and said hi, but he seemed pretty cool.

For indy wrestlers, you'll never meet a nicer or happier guy than Drake Younger.

It is a shame that I never got to meet either Ivan or Nikita Koloff, but my brother and his wife did. They told me that they were nice to them and even got an autographed pic.
Also, who has an issue with Terry Funk? I never heard anything bad about him. He must be one of the nicest guys in the business as well as Eddie Guerrero (RIP).

Bobby Eaton and Richie Steamboat are the two nicest guys I've met from the wrestling biz. Both very personable.

I've never heard a bad word spoken about Bobby Heenan. Then apparently you haven't been listening to Gorilla Monsoon enough. ;D But seriously, don't the Valiant's hate him for some reason? I'm not saying they're right, I'm just saying they're likely to speak bad words about him.

Manu is very cool. I've met him twice at local shows, very cool guy. Foley is awesome as well. I met him two years ago when he was appearing on a show at the highschool. When I walked in, he was seated at a table in the hallway. As I walked by, I said "Foley is good!" He asked if I wanted a picture, but I told him I couldn't afford it. Instead of telling me to get lost, he told me to come over and shake his hand, which led to a crowning moment of awesome for me. I said, "I can't wait to see Mick Foley kick all kinds of ass... right here in Rockland, Massachusetts!" Which in turn led to him giving me the thumbs up and a "YEAH!" Definitely my favorite memory from any wrestling show I've been to.

Met Taz last week, and he's easily one of the coolest people - wrestling or otherwise - I've ever met.
Vader is really cool toward fans.
And I always say, the Chikara guys are cool. Jigsaw was really, really friendly.
