Funny, could have sworn I've heard Man Utd fans calling him a rapist for the past 5 years, and Wenger a pedophile for that matter. Football fans in 'being fickle' shocker. And you can't label all Man United fans with that distinction. I thought both chants were very mean. Anywho, RVP#20 to win title #20!

Personally, the only player who has had legal problems outside of the game who I would not be happy to see United sign is Joey Barton.

Yeah, i'd personally find it difficult going to a place that called me a rapist for years and my mentor a pedophile and call it my new 'home'. Not saying all Man Utd fans did it but it's a big enough section to be heard at most Man Utd/Arsenal matches.

Some interesting results today. Anyone willing to make silly predictions already? Liverpool is now going to try like mad to buy Clint Dempsey. As for today's results, when is Mark Hughes gonna learn how to spend money properly?

Woodwork taking a hammering at Newcastle. Spurs have bit both the post and bar.

Think we're pretty lucky to still be level at half-time. Spurs the superior side out there. We have had some good periods of play though. Ben Arfa a threat as per usual.

Lost 3-1 today two poor defensive mistakes and a great goal scored by Wycombe, our goal was a bit odd.
Ah well on to Morecambe on Tuesday.
I would take 22nd on Goal Difference to be honest and would said that before a ball was kicked today all about surviving in our first season.

Nice one Liverpool. Sigh. We were all over them for the first half-hour apparently but we couldn't convert that into goals. New season, new Manager, same problem.

I'll be honest, as a netrual to England I'm going to be pulling for Swansea this season. I've always been a fan of Michael Laudrup as a manager, especially the fact that his teams will play some very entertaining football. I hope the best for them.

Well, that was a very nice start to the season. Beating a very good side without Captain Colo too. Spurs were the better side for large parts of the game, but at the end of the day it's the result that counts.

Ben Arfa 2. Ba 3. Gutierrez (seriously, he was everywhere today and was really flying out there) I think if Newcastle improves their passing and plays a little more cohesively as a unit defensively, they're guaranteed a better effort the next time out.

Yeah I'd agree with those three. Ben Arfa is our most naturally gifted player. And I agree with the Gutierrez comment, the guy is everywhere in every single game. I've no idea how he has so much energy. I think the poor passing (at times) today is purely start of the season sluggishness. In four or five weeks time I expect that to be completely sorted. As for the defensive thing, we don't have the best defence in the world but we suffered a lot today in terms of cohesiveness by not having Colo in there, he marshals the team every game and his absence with a big loss.

I love Newcastle's style of play, their philosophy, and almost all their players. Great team to watch, hope they do well again this season.
And Liverpool, oh dear. I wonder the odds of a 'RODGERS OUT' banner being unfurled at Anfield next week...............
