Since we got a worst thread going, why not a best?
My top 10 in no particular order:
- Bon Iver, Bon Iver - The Weeknd, House of Balloons - Destroyer, Kaputt - PJ Harvey, Let England Shake - TV on the Radio, Nine Types of Light - M83, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming - Kendrick Lamar, Section.80 - Yuck, Yuck - Drake, Take Care - Kurt Vile, Smoke Ring for My Halo
Yours?

Again, Camp is probably the best thing I've heard all year.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is fantastic and you should listen to it right now!

The Dear Hunter - The Color Spectrum (complete version) I knew this would be a special album as soon as I put it in constant rotation. I got the compilation album at Best Buy at whim, because I was a casual fan of "Act III" and thought I'd give them another shot. I really dig it, and then I find it on clear vinyl at a record store, so I buy it again. Then I download the full version on iTunes. And then this past Christmas I got the Complete version on CD. Unfortunately I don't have this amazing vinyl set (very expensive and it sold out before I could nab it). 36 songs across 4 cds or 9 LPs - that's A LOT of music. Casey is one of the best song-writers out there and if these guys don't get more popular - considering their music is largely accessible in the first place - that will be a testament to the times, I think. But yeah, this is absolutely my album of the year. And that's no small feat considering these other solid releases: - Steven Wilson - "Grace for Drowning" *close runner-up*
- Hiromi - "Voice"
- Tides From Nebula - "Earthshine"
- Explosions in the Sky - "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care"
- Opeth - "Heritage"
- Bon Iver - "Bon Iver"
- Mastodon - "The Hunter"
- Hotel of the Laughing Tree - "Terror and Everything After"
- Blackfield - "Welcome to my DNA"
Wasn't big on Dredg's new one at all. That's the only major disappointment I've had with my usual longtime favorites. Lots of good stuff this year!

Only two I can think of right now that actually came out this year:
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Mogwai - Hardcore Will never Die, But You Will
If we can count reissues, then the deluxe editions of "Gish" and Siamese Dream" by Smashing Pumpkins totally eclipse everything else.
