Back in the day, my biggest concerns in life were Sonic the Hedgehog, wrestling, and whatever sci-fi space anime I could find.
Yeah, I should probably work on the whole "growing up" thing.

We wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was. And then we all lived in a Pokémon world.

I remember getting Pokemon blue about a week or so after release from my local target store, I had to save up the money for it and remember the last week until my allowance dragging on.
Playing sport in the street with my older brother and the neighbourhood kids, I'm disappointed now as an adult that I don't see kids doing that anymore.
Playing super Nintendo on a tiny push button tv that my dad set up for me.
Going to the football with my dad, I still do this but as a kid it seemed more special. Dad often mentions now he only went for some time because my brother and I enjoyed it,our team in the 90s were terrible, leaking money like a siv and watching them used to piss him off except that in his mind it made up for him constantly being at work which reminds me that mum (hairdresser who worked at home) always made sure she had a ten/twenty minute break When i got home from school to be able to talk to me wbout school, my day, general stuff, I never clicked as a kid that she intentionally did it

Remember when Nikki Cox was the hottest thing on two legs I ever saw, when Hartford had a hockey team, and when the FOX network showed hockey games?

Going to the football with my dad, I still do this but as a kid it seemed more special. Yeah going to football was much better as a kid it meant more and seemed like an adventure with terraces, barbed wire, leaking toilets, the smell of smoke and piss, standing on walls/sitting on bars, semi-regular pitch invasions, mental celebrations/surges, being scared of Welsh hooligans, getting soaked when it rained, getting autographs, learning new swear words, abusing Mark McGhee, moaning old men, police horses and players standing with the fans. And as you say the most importat part was spending time with my Dad. You just wouldn't get a picture like the one below these days. Of course many of those things are still around and we're better off without other aspects but it's a reminiscing thread dammit.

I was wearing tight shorts, flying around in pink helicopters, and a bright pair of newcomers called Bros had the world at their feet.
