And thus why I think they should've just went with sprites again. Now I don't mean half ass it like MvC2, I definitely mean use updated sprites, but still use sprites. Much less work. Using 3D character models only gives them more work..... I don't know about that. Quality sprites can take a LOT of work... Never said anything about quality sprites, now did I? Just updated.

Getting Rival Schools characters is apparently hampered due to Capcom not owning the rights to the characters or something. As for Demitri, I think the main reason he doesn't get in (besides being a male rather than a scantily clad female) is because his Midnight Bliss attack could require a lot more work for animators. At the very least, you have to design new forms for everyone just for that attack. I could imagine it'd just be easier to not have him on a game with a large roster. And thus why I think they should've just went with sprites again. Now I don't mean half ass it like MvC2, I definitely mean use updated sprites, but still use sprites. Much less work. Using 3D character models only gives them more work..... Uh... no. 3D character models are WAY easier and cheaper to create than high-quality sprites. There's a ton of work involved in making HD sprites, especially if you don't half-ass it like Arc System Works does with all their fighters and cut down on the animation frames. And the tricks Vanillaware uses for their games would NEVER fly in a fighter. Hell, the SF3 games and Garou: Mark of the Wolves are still the kings of sprite animation for fighters and those games are a decade+ old. Of course, they could go the Darkstalkers route and just use re-use all the old CPS2 sprites and upscale their resolution. And promptly be laughed out of the industry.

I didn't mean using state of the art HD-quality sprites like the recent KoF games or the BlazBlue games.

mmm, I don't know, at this time you need to create great sprites to launch a game that looks worthy for a CD
If they ''HD REMIXED'' the mvc2 sprites, the game will look awful

Anyone else half-expecting them to change Dante into his redesigned look? Quite honestly, I'd be pissed if they did. He seems to be my main ATM and I just couldn't handle playing as that new look.

And Kyosuke was in Capcom vs. SNK 3. doesn't mean they can't get them, just means it's not that easy. From what I heard, and Lorenzo probably knows more about it, the VA's own the characters or something.

Anyways, as for this game, given that EA does this every year with several franchises and does even less to change those games most of the time, I don't think Capcom is doing anything unreasonable.

IF UMVC3 adds more besides characters then I'm cool.
- Story Mode - To rival Mortal Kombat's - Challenge Mode
Regular MVC3 was so bare bones it was insulting.

It DID have a story... Dr. Doom teamed up with Wesker to gain control of the two different universes... and somehow Galactus got involved.
Story!
(yeah, it sucked... SHUT UP!)

I remember when we were promised a story mode. Well we did get a story, or at least as much story as your typical Arcade Mode allows you. I know, I know, when Capcom said MvC3 would have a story mode, I was expecting something like the story modes in the BlazBlue games or MK9, you know, an actual freaking story. Instead we just got Arcade Mode....

Don't give a shit about story all I wanna see is X-Factor removed from the game and the game made less scrubby. Don't give a f*** about the number of characters they add, just fix XFC (IE get rid of that shit) and tone down Wolverine's damage, that's it.

was I the only one who thought this meant Ultimate Marvel as in Earth-1610? I didn't read the rest of the posts to see.

I KNOW THEY WON"T BUT I'm hoingthey at least take a major bat t it at all levels. Level1 is just as f***ing bad as & 3, at least take out the 50% minimum scaling which still has moves doing %110 abover their normal, it's one of the main reasons Wolverine can kill so asily on top of his retarded mixupdue to Zerker Slsh.
